2024 Rain Thread: All Your El Nino Are Belong to Us
I've poked around a little bit on Centerpoint's webpage, but haven't been able to locate any sort of outage map. Does something like that exist? My daughter, son-in-law and granddaughter live in Timbergrove and lost power during the storm. They drove up to Austin yesterday to wait for power to get reconnected.

¡Snek!
Stumbled upon this one on my morning walk today. Was looking down at my phone when I noticed movement in front of me. He was getting out of the way from me quicker than I got away from him.

Fishing Megathread: Looking For Big Girls Who swallow
I'm a total novice. Thinking about taking my son (26) and son in law (33) also novices, to the coast for a fishing weekend. Thinking more bay fishing for trout and redfish then offshore. Broad question I know, but best place for that during the summer? Guide recommendations who will furnish all gear and bait also appreciated. Thanks.

If it hits Cooper's I'm going to be royally pissed. Didn't one of you have the Cooper's Big Chop as your avatar back on Austin360/HornFans/Shaggy?

What the fuck is wrong with you, Austin?
It's arguing balls and strikes. They need to look at my property and see that I protest every year and figure they'll give me a break to get rid of me. Seems to have worked so far, although with the run up in values over the last ten years my taxable value is still way below the appraised market value. But every little hit helps. And I'm with Bozo, I hire it out.

Any ID on this bird at my feeder? Sorry not a great pic. Nothing like I've seen here before. Cheap free app says Summer Tanager.

RAIN in the 78746!- Worldwide Israel/Palestine War Protests Thread
Randall's in West Lake Hills is excellent. But go ahead and stay away. More Topo Chico 12 packs for me (which HEB in Westlake doesn't sell).- Best Fried Chicken
I'm intrigued. There's (apparently) one in a Valero c-store right by the entrance to Horseshoe Bay. Are they all the same quality. or are some better than others?- Worldwide Israel/Palestine War Protests Thread
White protestors (presumably well-off or otherwise privileged students) at UNC throwing bottles and liquids at African American police officers circled around the flagpole to protect the American flag was not on my bingo card today.- BBQ
ABJ Article on Valentina's meltdown.- Mexican
Wife, son and I went there tonight for the first time. Definitely adding to the rotation. Wife is a ceviche snob (her grandmother was from Tampico) and really liked it. Drinks were also top shelf. I had the carnitas tacos this time. Looking for forward to trying the guisada and pibil on future visits. Cool place.- Why Can't I Quit You, Austin?

Shiner Ranch?- Ski Season 2023/2024
Can they staff it if they stay open? My understanding is that Angel Fire hires quite a few contract seasonal workers from South America with hard end dates, so it's not feasible for them to stay open after the contracts run. Looks like from their webpage AF is already closed. Their webcams show they still have a shitload of snow. https://www.angelfireresort.com/weather/ - 2024 Rain Thread: All Your El Nino Are Belong to Us
