As much damage as he did, I would still love to have President McConnell right now. He wouldn't be lining his pockets from the treasury, threatening NATO allies, or trying to figure out how to rig elections. Well ok maybe a little of that last one.
Maybe they should also ask some questions of the guy who is in the files a billion times, and who Epstein considered his closest friend. I don't know, just spitballing.
I've felt like once that happens, and we reach the tipping point, there might be a quick mass exodus. Like once everything becomes so poisonous that it's politically damaging for even red state republicans to support him, and they have the numbers, most will bail. Or maybe I'm just feeling optimistic. It's funny to listen to Pod Save America, and their constant refrain is "Well, the remedy here is impeachment and removal from office". Like they say that all the time. He's doing impeachment-and-removal-from-office things weekly, if not daily sometimes. Emoluments is just sitting here, anytime they want to use it. Enriching yourself by billions and accepting a billion dollar gift from a foreign country is pretty cut and dry.
Exactly. If that's the explanation then they should have immediately said "OMG, holy shit we had no idea. Damn, that's horrific. We are so sorry." Instead the person responsible for speaking for the administration was like "Why are y'all bitching about that? It's awesome, shut up."
Even if we're being as charitable as possible as to why that was posted, the very least they could respond with would be an immediate and sincere apology. They did the opposite. Which of course makes you seriously doubt the charitable explanation.
Even if Trump didn't do it, the fact that one of his staffers felt comfortable posting that under his name really tells you all you need to know. Well, that and the fact that his press secretary said there was nothing wrong with it.
Trying to follow the logic here.... because of slavery, it's now totally cool to be as racist as you want towards black people. Because "no one cares" about slavery.
Put Brad Pitt in Congress and go visit a political board dominated by middle-aged women (if such a thing exists, please point me that direction) and see what happens.
I think we generally do a good job as far as AOC is concerned, all things considered (her being hotter than the surface of the sun, and us all being middle-aged thirsty dudes).
"It's from the internet so that means it's totally cool for the President to share something racist with the world. Because, you see, it's on the internet."
There is probably a better chance that Trump has done inappropriate things with his female grandchildren than him actually being able to tell you all of their names.
It's so bizarre I'm a little fascinated by the psychology of it. If you watch someone being extraordinarily racist, that only means that you yourself are racist? What else does that apply to? If I watched someone being robbed and murdered, am I the real robber and murderer? So many questions.
