Yes, and remember the president is a republican, both houses are republican, and for some reason Rafael can't get any bills passed. Weird. If he's this ineffective with both houses and the president, just how bad is he going to be with just 1 house and the president?
A vote for ted is a vote wasTED.
I'm not sure that list is complete. Aren't municipal races in Texas non partisan, so you don't really know that they are Libertarian.. they didn't actually run as the nominee for the L party.
Not to thread shit, but if people were concerned with actual issues, Kim Olson would be packing her boxes to move into her new office in Austin. Alas, Jesus Shot boy will be reelected because R.
Beautiful day for a race, great temp, no rain, can't beat it.
F4 was exciting.
My mute red car driver won.
Total cost, $10 tip for bartender. I call it a win.
Oh and pro tip, always go against the traffic. There was No one heading towards Elroy, I really never hit the brake till 21. Towards 130... that was a cluster fuck and a half, some of those people are probably still sitting there.
I got into K about 8:50, they parked us on the roads, not the parking spots. It was just about full then and glad I got here early and watched some F3.
Reading comments on COTA's facebook posts, it looks like they still have the same operations issues as always. Parking lot operators are beyond useless, the "upgrade" for the concert was something different than sold, etc.
Its amazing to me how poorly run they do things. Ah well, leaving in a couple of hours to catch F3 and F4.
I went off of the comment was 'for football'. That's thrown around so often and its usually quite wrong.
Meh. Shit's expensive. A lot of people don't realize how expensive shit really is. Katy ISD built a $70 million dollar stadium.. they have 8 high schools and 77,000 kids. I'd say 2 stadiums and 8 high schools is a pretty good use of resources.
Amenities on part with profession teams, like what? You gotta back that one up with some data. Oh my gosh, they have a weight room!?!?!?!
Meh. That takes away a lot of local control. A district should still be able to provide more for its students if they want to. Ie.. if Lake Travis homeowners vote to tax themselves more than the base to do whatever they want, why shouldn't they be able to?
Its so strange how often we see this argument, about stadiums being built for football. I wish it was only for football, but alas our local stadium is still used by soccer, band, track and field, various community events like Relay for Life etc. It seems like a great talking point to say its built 'for football', but really falls apart when one actually gets involved in their local school district and sees all the events that use the stadium. You want to talk about single use, let's talk about baseball and softball stadiums. I really don't know of anything else using those.
It does and I'm sure parking is a blast and will continue to be (they've already started limiting the people in N, I think, and putting new ones in a different lot).
But you can see the racing line has dried out fairly well.
