I've had the usual assortment of injuries like torn ACL, broken bones, etc. but honestly the pain of a burn in a kitchen fire -- just my THUMB -- was the worst. And that was only 2nd degree. I can't imagine walking 1.5 miles with 3rd degree bans, even it they were "just" on his hands.
A former coworker played for the Austin Blacks. It was basically a mid-to-high level men's league team. I seriously doubt they have cash reserves amounting to anything. Some of the individuals will, though.
I didn't say otherwise, but that timeframe into the late 1980's represented a dearth of talent on the 40 Acres that hasn't been experienced since. We were just getting smoked by teams that were far more adept at the bag game.
They were among the worst cheaters in that time period they love to crow about. At least Eric Dickerson took the Trans Am and STILL went to SMU. Oh yeah, we're 14-5 against them since then, so that makes it 15-15 since the start of the Jackie years. Cherry-picking timeframe can always be countered.
My paternal grandfather and one of his daughters (my aunt) went to KU, and I gotta say their alumni base is increibly loyal even to this day. We had a great aunt that lived there so we visited often and Lawrence was really surprising. I expected it to be dull and flat -- basically, College Station -- and it was nothing of the sort. Hilly, great vibe, fun little town.
Yeah, Gusto's took a significant turn for the worse a few years into their run. I lived a couple of blocks from Vespaio, and I never really got it. Food was very good but the "jam yourself into this little bar and wait" thing got old. Enoteca took a lot of heat off, though.
The hilarious part of this is that he's a kid from Texas playing for the Longhorns, and playing well. Forget revshare/NIL, forget the NFL. No matter what happens, if he keeps making contributions he is fucking SET FOR LIFE in this state. As of now, he is fucked for life. Way to go, dumbass.
The Black Beauty is probably more appropriate for heavier music, but there is a reason the Supraphonic is such a widely used drum on recordings. To me, it just has a bit more of a flexible, "classic" sound (obviously Bonham for starters). Better answer: more gear beats less gear. Buy it.
In my opinion, Boston's biggest flaw was the fact that Tom Scholz couldn't write a decent lyric to save his life. I don't agree that every song sounds the same.
Today I learned that black fabric curtains not only block the transmission of any light but the transmission of any sound. I'm going to go have a talk with Dr. Busch-Vishniac who taught my noise control class, because this is a new paradigm.
Snaps, targets, and dollars are practically fungible in this world. He thinks he's better than Sark does. I don't know who's right, but I don't think the end result has to be nefarious. You are putting words in my mouth. I also stay off the recruiting board.
There are any number of explanations for how that played out. Parker could have changed his tune after the bowl game, Texas could have strung him along, etc. Ultimately it seems he thinks he's more valuable than Sark does, so it's certainly his prerogative to move on.
