Houston is tanking so expertly that people can’t tell if they are trying to lose games or if they are just terrible.

Post-Beard Game 5: Texas @ WV, 5pm, ESPN
Terry has to figure out a way to get Hunter going again. Hydrate him up, play him 35 minutes and tell the other players to get him 30+ points. Don’t care if he has to put up 40 shots to get there and we lose the game. This team can possibly get to the Sweet 16 without him, but no way we go farther than that. He needs to play like the best player on the team - and he is capable of it.

Point and laugh at Shaka Smart
I've played some pickup games like the ACU game. Where the other team is shorter and less athletic, but cares WAY more than you. So they destroy you on the glass, out hustle you on defense and ultimately win. It is annoying.

Buying small grills is stupid, right?
Haven't read the thread, but have you considered a small grill like this? I think it looks more subtle and classy than the full sized grill.

Point and laugh at Shaka Smart
Up until the end, I wanted Shaka to succeed at Texas. Early in his time here, we lost sooooo many close games by just a few points. And we were recruiting well. It seemed like we had a CHANCE to turn the corner. The team that lost to Abilene was actually a really good, well constructed team. They finished 9th in the final AP poll, and were as high as 4th for multiple weeks. I thought it had the potential to make a deep run in the tourney - maybe even to the Final Four. I mean, we had TEN top-100 HS players on the roster. Matt Coleman was a boss. We had solid interior play with Jericho Sims, Kai Jones, Greg Brown, Hepa, Cunningham, Hamm, etc. And our guards were all experienced. It is just beyond comprehension that this team lost to ACU.

- UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
In previous years, I have no doubt we would be 1-4 or 2-3. I'm mainly encouraged that we are still finding ways to win even though we aren't playing that great. It will be interesting to see what happens the rest of the season. Every day this is more Terry's team. As the schedule keeps getting harder we will see what they are all made of. They won't be able to let teams like Kansas get out to big leads.- Post-Beard #3: Tech @ Texas, 7pm ESPN

I like this team much better than last year’s team. Rice is more clutch than anyone on that team. Carr is playing better off the ball. Disu is better. The freshmen are supremely athletic and fun to watch. The team is finding ways to win. Those damn Shaka teams would have like 10 losses by <5 points. This team is winning those games. Hunter is the difference in the team being good or being special. I think he will pull it together.- UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
I'm just spit-balling here, but I think Terry might be able to leverage winning a National Title into some decent recruits and transfers. Of course, he isn't going to win a title, so it is moot.- NBA 2022-2023 Season Thread
Or they could have... you know... used one of their two remaining timeouts where they could have designed a play to put the ball in LeBron's hands.- UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
I don’t think a single person on this board is advocating for hiring Rodney Terry. I’m only saying that it is possible for me to change my mind. But having watched the team the last few weeks, it is incredibly unlikely.- UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
I think he is doing a little better than OK. The whole Beard situation had the potential of completely splintering the team going into a brutal Big-12 slate. I think he has done a great job under those circumstances. I mean, he is 8-1 with wins over Massey #16, at #32, #41, at #59. Only loss was to the #11 team (although it was pretty painful). Yes it seems like we should be winning bigger than we are, but a lot of those would be close losses in previous years. Again, I think we can do better, but give the man his due.- UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
Do you really think the only way Terry keeps his job is if we win a title? What if we win the Big 12, something we have only done 3 times? What if we make it to an Elite 8, something we have only done 4 times in the last 50 years? What if we make a Final Four? This roster is definitely talented enough to do any of the above. We are winning games with our best player playing like shit. If they put it together they are capable of having the best year in school history. And if Terry pulls it off, it will be under extremely difficult circumstances. As I have said, I think we can do better. But saying he has zero chance is stupid.- UT's next basketball coach - discussion/debate [Sean Miller Hired]
If Terry gives us a solid tourney run (Sweet 16 all the way up to potential Final Four), I’m fine giving him another year. Or give him a multi year deal, but with a very low buyout. But under no circumstances would I sign him to a long term deal without multiple good years.- Huge Piece of Shit and alleged Woman Abuser Chris Beard has been hired at Mississippi
Correct. He borrowed my costume.- Post-Beard #3: Tech @ Texas, 7pm ESPN
