Perhaps you missed the recent announcement.

Assuming you've tested everyone in FL and the 110k total cases is correct, sure. Same thing happens with other respiratory viruses, it's impossible to quantify how many people aren't experiencing major symptoms and don't get tested.

If you've got time this explains it better than I ever could.
TLDR: if it behaves like other coronaviruses and immunity lasts 8-12 months, 25% of herd immunity just makes us yo-yo through cases indefinitely until we get a vaccine. but life goes on.
Meh, if I chose my neighborhood by what the neighborhood stay at home moms posted on Nextdoor, I'd probably have to live in Siberia. Besides, the yoga pants are nice.
While I agree with you about the majority parents working and having those difficulties of balance, there are half a dozen women that would rather be sipping on something with the kids in school on our street alone. And they're fucking vocal about it. The rest of us are too fucking busy to have time to gripe.
Kinda sounds like life as usual, sadly.
At this point I’ve gone from cautiously optimistic to oh fuck, not again.
I read https://ncase.me/covid-19/ after someone posted it last night and some of those scenarios are hitting a little too close to home.
In talking with family, all the older folks thought one of the long term effects we might see is more single income families moving forward. I kinda brushed it off during the conversation just based on economics, but now I'm not so sure.
Yeah I think I'll try some fungicide for TARR, that tree is tall and thin enough that there isn't much shade cover for afternoon sun. Thanks for the opinions
I agree with the first sentence, but until that happens we can't be confident of the 2nd.
There are so many waves of misinformation that Texans as a whole can't distinguish logical from agenda driven narratives with critical thinking skills. I know the why is a whole other thread, but I'm with your first point. Our leaders at the state level need to provide a unified message to simplify things and give us a chance, and they're just not doing that right now.
@cactusflinthead any ideas on this? It's almost a circle around the tree there, like they treated the root zone of the tree or something. I didn't think it would be fungus because it hasn't spread to the rest of the yard and that section is slightly elevated so should drain better than surrounding turf.
Not yet peer reviewed, so might as well be something you or I wrote on the internet. And I'm shocked that "Ascientist known for his contrarian takes to dire COVID-19 predictions" might conclude that come to the conclusion that based on antibody testing the fatality rate isn't as high as initial estimates.
Wtf is wrong with this section of St Augustine right around the tree in our front yard? Been this way since moving in a few months ago, watered and fertilized to no avail. I thought someone just scalped it when we moved in but now I’m not so sure.
Public heath regulations and enforcement shouldn’t be on local businesses. How anyone thinks this is out of the scope of government is beyond me. This is precisely why Pinthouse closed for a while, they didn’t want the responsibility of making and enforcing public policy regulations for the safety of their patrons and employees.
Serious question, why do you believe this coronavirus is different than others? Only evidence that points the way you're positioning is not robust and hasn't been replicated.
85 + walkons, so no
Realistically though, colleges, schools and daycares are breeding grounds for communal diseases. This was always going to make the rounds at some point.
Edit: I see you might have been 13 positive plus 10 quarantine...so yeah I'm not so good at math/reading
I'd pump the brakes on those 2 points, the evidence so far is not very robust.
And if it makes you feel better, the US is definitely going to take the lion's share of the initial doses of any vaccine. So things will be back to normal for us far sooner than the rest of the world. Even if that isn't for another year+
