Beer 2020: Pint glasses or it didn’t happen.
along those lines: recommend me a new"er" brewery to try to swing by this weekend. I'm southwest and have kids, so closeness counts.

Yes, yes, yes, probably not, not sure.- Coronavirus Antibody test available in Austin
Negative. Took them a while to call me with results.- Coronavirus Antibody test available in Austin
@Newdoc my test is at 415, so we'll see if its the antibody or the swab- I think I may have Covid-19 thread - 2 confirmed cases
I know the damn Amber Alerts are non stop.- Running / Triathlon Thread
I'm actually running almost every day and losing weight even with significantly increased drinking. Been skipping breakfast and sometimes lunch, so that coupled with the stress of both of us working from home with 2 kids and not sleeping much... I'm trying to keep the volume down otherwise I'm pretty sure I'd develop an overuse injury.- Coronavirus Antibody test available in Austin
Thanks for this, I just had my video consult and got approved to schedule the test, just waiting on the phone call now to do so. FWIW I had contact with someone who later tested positive clinically, and I mentioned I wanted to donate plasma if I had antibodies. Speaking of: here's the link for Austin if you want to do so. https://weareblood.org/convalescent-plasma/- Beer 2020: Pint glasses or it didn’t happen.
They're sold out. I just put in an order for St. Elmo and got a text 3 minutes later that it's ready for pickup. Hope this beer to go model sticks around permanently.- Bread Thread
Thanks, will give that a shot. Everyone seems to recommend preheating the vessel. I did watch this vid last night and gave a few of his tips a try. We'll see how it turns out- Life and Death of a Salesman
I threw out a few feelers last night. Ill start in earnest later this week.- Beer 2020: Pint glasses or it didn’t happen.
I mean, the softness of a merkin depends on if it's been properly cared for.- Life and Death of a Salesman
I got the news today that our factory is going half time in May unless orders improve, which means all other staff (sales included) will be doing the same. So while I still have a job, I'm about to have half the base. Not great news, but not the worst either in the situation we're all in.- Bread Thread
I always have issue with the dough sticking to the shaping vessel before the transfer to the dutch oven. I've tried flouring a kitchen towel, coating the bowl, coating the shaped dough itself...about the best success I've had is parchment paper in the bowl, then flour, then the dough, and lifting the whole thing out and straight into the dutch oven.- All Encompassing Mortgage and Real Estate Thread
Here I was thinking this was the actual situation for a sternly worded note, but the day isn't over yet Rusty.- All Encompassing Mortgage and Real Estate Thread
Any real estate lawyers in Austin on here? Neighbor pumped out his pool into our yard and then took down the chainlink that denoted the property line.- Bread Thread
Ya I’m using whole wheat, I read that it has more flora so you have Less difficulty getting it going. After the feeding this morning it’s roughly doubled in size by noon, so i feel like I’m on the right track. Something that is confusing is it had way more acidic flavor on ~day3 than today. Also, anyone use a dough scraper? And how useful is a banetton? I feel like the last thing I need is something else to take up space in the kitchen cabinets but I usually have issues transferring from the bowl or whatever I use for proofing to the Dutch oven.- I think I may have Covid-19 thread - 2 confirmed cases
Tylenol good, ibuprofen bad for covid19. Something about being in respiratory distress due to cytokine storm and confusing the body's signaling regarding the proper amount of immune response. But if you don't have the covids, ibuprofen is fine.- Bread Thread
So I'm on Day 3 of growing a sourdough starter, and I've got bubbles as well as a nice yeasty aroma. Hopefully the twice a day feedings can get it up and running by Sunday so I can give it a shot. We'll see.- I think I may have Covid-19 thread - 2 confirmed cases
Ya there's a nasty adenovirus going around too. My oldest had 103+ 3 weeks ago, not a single symptom other than that. We started WFH at that point anyways, but everyone else in the house was able to deal with whatever it was without any symptoms. All I got is that companies that do viral testing are going to make bank on the backside of this crisis.- Formerly DT: COVID-19 - Featuring Lots of Politics, now CR because political talk not going away
The tone today is markedly more surly.- Bread Thread

So if anyone is interested, it's day 2 of my attempt to grow a sourdough starter. No bubbles yet, still looks like normal dough. - Formerly DT: COVID-19 - Featuring Lots of Politics, now CR because political talk not going away
