  1. Ok sure, but my comment was personal to him. I have quite a bit of familiarity with the guy and he's a certain... strain... of defense attorney. The kind that quotes Shakespeare in his briefs, name-drops continually, and dances up to the edge of outright misrepresentations to the court
  2. Brian Wice, the special prosecutor who makes his living as a defense attorney -- great job, bitch
  3. federal, though he is supposed to serve some days in jail on contempt charges from civil dispute in Travis County so... who is the NBA player he wired $100k to in 2022? Haven't followed this so closely it's too late in the day for me to be accurate on anything, hence my edit. but one thing I do know ---- Natey boy. has been eating his feelings
  4. "pre-trial diversion agreement" = deferred adjudication? Reporting on legal matters is so imprecise. Looks like there was a concerted effort by both parties to let him skate. What a colossal fucking waste of resources and yet another enormous green light to the continuing lawlessness of the state's top law enforcement agent. I'd say it's embarrassing but Texas is beyond that obviously.
  5. JFC, guess I haven't had the distinct displeasure of really taking in the full grotesquerie of Comer before... that is one hydrocephalic, Gingrich-esque noggin there
  6. Tucker's giving Dan Patrick a run for his money in the unfashionable lesbian race. And this just goes to show, there's always a worse alternative the right wants to line up for us
  7. How many R's know the fundamental fact that Biden helped get RID of the guy who was NOT investigating Burisma ... not that it'd make a difference in the age of cognitive dissonance
  8. A liberal paradise sounds fucking amazing. Especially compared to what we've got now
  9. oh it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it
  10. your glee about getting in the weeds of "winning" despite the potential win being untethered to the treasonous actions at issue is quite telling
  11. That would seem evidentiary in nature rather than elemental, but obv. I haven't looked into the wording of the indictment
  12. Very little media focus on the charges that McAfee threw out --- is it correct that they were the ones relating to the phone call to Raffensperger, i.e., the crimes that should be easiest to prove??
  13. yes, if -- for instance -- defendants claimed the indictment didn't give proper notice of the charged conduct for those offenses. Not sure how it went down here
  14. The tweet clarifies that those charges could be reindicted, if they're more detailed... and the ruling may indicate no disqualification of Willis. Most importantly, let's get this prosecution GOING
  15. For me, it's always been his very blatant misogyny, he just fucking hates women and I could never tolerate his cuntiness based on that alone.
  16. this is random and shallow but how are his teeth so perfect and blindingly white -- he's got a million-watt smile.
  17. ... and why hasn't this shit been ruled on and handled by now??
  18. weird, just happened to see this quote posted by a German 80s goth singer, no less: " The greater part of the population is not very intelligent, dreads responsibility, and desires nothing better than to be told what to do. Provided the rulers do not interfere with its material comforts and its cherished beliefs, it is perfectly happy to let itself be ruled. " ~Aldous Huxley Trumpers absolutely believe they will benefit from the autocracy and not suffer alongside the people they hate. History says chaos will ensure society-wide, however.

Can we at least fire Gilbert Hinojosa (who? state Dem chair) into the sun and start getting serious about voter engagement??
  20. pretty harsh punishment these days as far as being forced to carry to term, not sure how your party will get harsher than that.

Ah great, the one who said in a campaign appearance that she doesn't believe in teaching kids not to laugh at other kids who are different. On video, look it up. Nice encapsulation of this state's current values.

Public education and the rule of law going bye bye.

yeah that's not too cool but not sure what's a good way to discretely determine which primary you're voting in, if you have to get the ballot and feed it in the machine. My neighborhood is very lefty as am I generally, but I've voted in the R primary a number of times for obvious reasons. One time voting at my kid's elementary school, I'm in a robust line of people who are presumably neighbors when the poll worker asks me and I say "republican" and the workers ooh'd and aah'd like I was a zoo specimen and one said to another, "we've got one!" I was NOT pleased.
