Shit is bananas. My tenant doesnt move out until May 31 so I did experiment before hiring property mgmt/realtor to really rent my place in the '46. I put up a cheap yellow arrow sign at my rental house (not major street) on Saturday at 11 am. By 4 pm, I had 4 people interested to see it and one guy willing to pay premium and not even having to see inside (he is building house in neighborhood and wants to keep tabs on construction while staying very close to their kids elementary school). Anyways, going to show it to 5 people on Friday so let's hope this works out with great tenant that pays and takes care of shit.

Houston BBQ
I have a 50/20/20/10/0 ratio for eating my BBQ at Truth/Pinkertons/Feges/Rudys/Goode Co and that order matches what I think the quality and consistency of BBQ is. Truth is best but most inconvenient. I've had 2 average meals there I would say. But that is a very high batting average given how much I go. I havent had bad meal at Pinkerton's but their best doesn't match Truth. Feges and Rudy's pretty convenient so that's why they are still in rotation. Goode Co = sucks.

The one on Long Point? If so, agreed. Feges BBQ line was too long one day so I went there instead. Didn't love it. There is taco truck near Antoine and Long Point that is way better, near the watermill express.

Colonoscopy
All done and removed three polyps. This means I have to have another joyous ride in 3 years. Was really hoping for that sweet 10 year call-back. All in all, the drink wasn't that bad. Tasted like stale Gatorade. Shitting piss got old but actual procedure was a nothing-burger. Car to car in less than 2 hours.

Colonoscopy
My poop countdown is starying soon so not a short-term solution.

Colonoscopy
I'm on deck and about to start the prep. They said to put Vaseline for protection from 'anorectal irritation.' So....do you put this on after each shitting session? Do you put a bit on toilet paper and spread it that way? These trying times are when not having any butt issues or need for Vaseline in my anorectal area to-date is costing me.

Houston BBQ
Been taking my kid to ninja warrior place near spring branch and seen Aunt Pookies BBQ many times. Anyone tried it? Better or worse than Rudy's?

2023 Spring Practice to Fall Camp Thread - Just hook it to my veins!
Agree with Mack. I don't watch UT football for the wins but more to get to know the good kids and good families. I'm cheering only for them to become great accountants and teachers with their diplomas they are earning by playing a game. I miss Brett Robin on second Saturdays in October.

Gardening 2023: Beets Offseason
Interesting. We have a place too but been hesitant to plant a fruit tree the last few years because a plant store told me they would need lots of water first two years. Do you have irrigation system of some sort? Or do you let Mother nature mother nature and see what survives?

Houston livestock show and rodeo
Went to Chris Stapleton. Amazing voice but felt short. Traffic in and out parking lot was terrible. I heard train was shitshow as well.

Texas Beach Volleyball!
I read Elliot say this will be a limited schedule this year to ease us into the sport. Do all these matches count on our record forever or is this a true gap year where nothing officially counts?

Tell me about Charleston
Ok, headed there with 7 and 12 year old for 2 days (part of long road trip) and would appreciate advice. 1) Mt Pleasant or Charleston hotel? Don't need to be in cool mix since I have two heavy anchors in tow that prevent actual adult fun. 2) Already wrote down various restaurants to choose from out of this thread so appreciate it all. Any final comments on family friendly places? We go to bars and stuff with them...but tend to bail before cool people and/or crowd gets there. Can I go eat at like 5 p.m. at a place like Husk with them or is it too cool a spot?

2021 - Is inflation finally back in the conversation?
I remember the 90s when I was young and all we did on 6th street was discuss yield to maturity rates on all our bonds.

Hey Oil Barons.......
I built a financial model for an LNG facility a Long, Long Time ago that, to be Frank (see what i did there), made me learn the deep underlying nature of a facility like that. At the time, you needed massive contracts with folks wiling to guarantee they would buy the LNG. No private company on earth could finance it without an offtaker or two that would guarantee a minimum revenue stream. Hence why there aren't more LNG facilities built even though the need was evident 20+ years ago.

TexMex
I don't know if it's nostalgia but I have been to Laredo and been to many other places and no one is at Juan's level for breakfast tacos. The fact you said tons of others when l haven't found one shows our taste buds are not calibrated. We could never date.

TexMex
Not to derail thread but why would she (1) sue and (2) get any money if she ran into you? Back into the rails...I miss Juan in a Million. Only Austin restaurant I miss or haven't found a superior replacement for in Houston.

Go karts?
I bought a Polaris Rzr 170 for my then 4 and 10 year olds (its a side by side but basically a go kart). It is designed for that age and has been fantastic so far. Only drawback is I'm 6'0" and my knees hit the dash. If you are 6'1", now way you fit and thus would not be able to sit in there with them to teach them how to drive.

YOLO. Plant away as next 10 day forecast has little chance of freeze so I'm going to gamble.

2023 Longhorns Football Offseason News and Notes
Umm, with that kind of attitude, you can't bitch about the greatest offense we have and will ever see as Longhorn fans. What is wrong with you?

I am currently looking for a Woodlands or Houston Heights apartment sublease
In my mid 20's, worked in Connecticut. Had to choose whether to mimize daily commute or fun-related commute. Chose to live in Manhattan, locking in one hour daily commute, because higher probability of consistently dipping my little peen into ladies. No ragrets.

Suggestions on best place to market a rental home in Austin (near Rollingwood)? Going to self-manage but wondering where people who have enough money to pay high rents but not enough money to own said home go looking for a rental nowadays. Last time I rented this house, I rented to a family with a Kindergartener who wanted A-rated Eanes schools and I said "how great would it be for them to stay here until she graduates"....and that little girl is now graduating so they are finally moving out in May. Let's run this no-churn bitch back.
