  1. I honestly don’t know if this response is a joke or not so I rather err on it being a joke and thus not respond than actually respond and you go “you didn’t catch on that i was fucking with you when I started bringing up Greek shit? Do you Macedonia brah?"
  2. Not that posts ever change anyone's mind but I know a lot about the education landscape and this move is in no way a play for charters whatsoever. Political f you, likely. But charters, not a chance. And anyone who wants more oversight must want more administration/bloat. They are very connected, sadly. Egos and plain old lack of intelligence are biggest culprits of weak education system. Corruption makes headlines but isn't a major factor in the downfall of education as its very rare to steal millions of dollars....not rare to waste millions of dollars because poor decisions were made by dumb or egotistical people. I would put it at a ratio of 50:1 of waste:corruption.
  3. Sadly, I’m friends with a few people who use a lot of buzzwords but don’t like it. However, I am not friends with anyone who grunts at the gym. You got an Olympic invite, fine? Otherwise, shut the f up. Addition: I am not friends with anyone who is perfectly normal and parks in handicap zone.
  4. I used to make fun of people who backed into spots and then I got a truck. Better choice, f the haters.
  5. Good list. Also have friends who are both vegan or vegetarian but I definitely don’t have any friends who tell you they are vegan within 2 minutes of meeting them. So I think delayed triggers are fine, ones who can’t wait to tell you I don’t like.
  6. Besides a person loudly and proudly proclaiming they don’t own a TV, what other singular act is 100% correlated to you not liking said person? I’ve now met two dudes who take a vacation day every year on their birthdays. Don’t like either of those betas. interested to hear what other singular things cause you to pull parachute on ever being friends with someone.
  7. Merritt Meat Company in Round Top. Everything was above average except the Brussels sprouts (seemed a touch burnt). Brisket was hidden under ribs and sausage. Fries were probably best I’ve had in a while.
  8. their pee must not have the slightest hue of yellow.
  9. Who do y’all think will start in 2029? I came here to read about this years team but f it, let’s party.
  10. Headed to Merritt Meat Company in Round Top on Friday. Anyone been? Offshoot from owners of Truth. I eat Truth (houston) quite a bit so what's to lose. I don't mind eating expensive beans as long as they're made by men so I'll let y'all know the prices.
  11. Hornbeliever replied to Smax's topic in Houston
I go about once a quarter. I like it but it isn’t Teo good. however it’s more convenient for me as I ride my bike up and down long point for lunch. Not Tex mex, more gente
  12. 21 day road trip from Houston to Bar Harbor…and yes, stopped in Charleston for a few days. Such great weather that it was hard to come back to this summer in Houston.
  13. Went to Mumbai, New Delhi, Calcutta, and Agra. Fascinating all around. I’ve traveled to over half the countries in the Americas and India is so much poorer than any slum in Central or South America, it isn’t comparable. And Calcutta is somehow far and away worse than the other three cities. And yes, I saw many people take shits in ditches or the coast line. But also always felt very safe…safer than downtown Austin or any other place in America (country small towns included). There is a peace to the poverty there that is hard to understand. Also hooked up for a few days with a red-headed Australian singer that was the jazz lounge singer at the Oberoi Hotel so that was a nice treat.
  14. Thanks. Dumb question….do you just buy tickets and walk around like a museum or is it more like Disney in that you have to have a plan? Like this specific area is interesting for adults but not kids so avoid it because it is a 8 minute walk in miserable heat type thing.
  15. Sorry, Johnson. Htown baby!

Some folks with an 8 year old coming into town and want to take son to NASA. Haven't been in 35 years. Is it worth it to go with a family? If so, any recs?I
  17. Was also in Charleston this summer with my family and glad I had sunglasses so my eyes were concealed. Hot ass was not being concealed.
  18. Plan E now because only one tier and never did a brisket. I think fine option for ribs and chicken but seems unwieldy for brisket and other long cooks where you have to mess with coals. Oh well, wanted to pitch in for the cause
  19. I am 50/50 on going but even if I dont, I have a backup option for you. I have one of those knockoff eggs that still works just fine. I’m upgrading soon after 7 years and happy to give it to y’all and you can just leave it in Alabama. It’s standard size so might be too small for your desires but I’ve made lots of delicious ribs and chicken on it. Anyways, giving you plan D as the floor.
  20. Agreed and if you don't believe papa, watch this.
  21. I recently got a nest and am wondering what is normal in a heat wave like right now in Texas. I’m in Houston and unit runs between 20 and 21 hours a day. Y’all know your usage per day? We live in a 7 year old house that seems/seemed well insulated and have it at 73 at night and 76 during day. this summer just feels different to my wife and I. Seems like it’s working harder and just can’t keep up. Got ac serviced and dude said all good so we are a bit puzzled. I wish we had bought Nest before this summer.
  22. I’m a few shows into Deadloch and enjoying it so far.
  23. So how is the Belly Burger? Menu looks delish and loaded tots be calling me.
  24. My wife and I went to Costco Bunker Hill and at self check-out, I decided to go to bathroom. It’s my card and she got denied even after telling them I’m just taking a piss. Had to let one person ahead of her and wait on me so they are getting strict about it apparently.
  25. @DalTxHornFan been wanting to cook one of these….how much did this cost and did you have to order it ahead of time?
