  1. How long does it take to freeze the 5 gallons? Sounds like a good idea.
  2. I'm an old. Very little profit in me taking on a challenge to fisticuffs.
  3. Actually millenials tend to embrace slow food, local produce, reusable containers and carry reusable water containers everywhere. I know a few that carry resusble cutlery. I believe you are talking about Hipsters, of which a few are millenials. I, an admitted old, have been accused of being a Hipster.
  4. ...as do their Millennial grandchildren. Just sayin'. Now, get offa my lawn!
  5. Buy block of ice and use ice pick. No plastic bag. No paper bag. Just a big beautiful bock of ice. That's how us olds used to ice down beer.
  6. Much of the world, certainly the developed countries, have potable water, essentially on demand. Get a glass. Hold it under the tap. Get a drink. I remain amazed at the people who simply must carry a plastic bottle of water with them at all times. My wife is one. I finally went to REI and bought her some non BPA, hippy dippy, love Mother Earth water bottles to carry...which she does...at all times. Of course we use copious amounts of water to wash and reuse these earth friendly bottles. I understand the weight involved in transporting glass reusables, hence my statement that we need a good plague. Drink. Fucking. Tap Water!!
  7. I see your point, but the shift from returnable to plastic was not a "slow shift". It happened in a time span of about 50 years, a rapid shift in terms of something this pervasive. Prior to that shift, all countries, first world and developing, lived without plastic containers. I do understand that "forcing" that shift, back to returnables, would be darn near impossible...here and abroad. The big picture is that there are too many people on this earth. We need a good plague, and I say that knowing that the olds, like me, would be some of the first to go.
  8. Ice maker leaking. Anti condensation heater not working in the door. Defrost timer off.
  9. Refillable glass bottles. Beer and Coke taste better from the glass refillable bottles. Milk, too. I broke numerous returnable glass milk bottles sitting on porches, waiting for the milk man, when I threw newspapers. I learned to be a better shot. Everything used to come in glass, or some sort of durable wax paper container, or thin cardboard containers. No doubt more expensive, but I don't see any other way.
  10. Yeah, but I sort 'a want to make it a gift with no strings attached...
  11. What is the cheapest way to ship guitars? I am giving a couple of mine to a friend and UPS wants $130 each...big boxes with guitar in the case, one bass weighs 30 lbs. I love the guy, but not $130 worth.
  12. One of the most disturbing images from my childhood is that of Opium Dens. Maybe a leaflet describing and picturing Opium Dens should be required reading before getting a prescription for these drugs.
  13. As I recall from many years ago, one of the best things in the world was an ice cold Pearl gulped from a returnable bottle. Returnable bottles ftw.
  14. Parrot. Machine/mechanical vs soul. Sort of spectrum type personality. Better than me, though.
  15. Thank you for posting that amazing footage. I had never seen that.
  16. Is honey "better" than sugar? Is coffee "better" than beer? Let's just leave "better" out of it. Jimmy was/is a master of a style which previously was the sole ("soul") style of older black players, much like Bill Campbell, a white boy who you would swear was black if you closed your eyes. The phrasing. The turn arounds. The vibrato. The licks. The pulls. Campbell and Jimmy were/are like no other white players, at least none that I know of anyway...Johnny Richardson flirted with that league sometimes. Stevie, I think, could play what Jimmy and Campbell played, but he just had more to say. It's not the same, at all, and to put one over the other diminishes both.
  17. My God. It’s full of stars.
  18. Compressor and its fan come on but no air from ducts. So I'm gathering fan compressor...but it's intermittent. Sometimes air to ducts, sometimes not. Any thoughts on intermittent?

How should I sell a collection? I have 1000+. All styles of music. Mostly rock, classical, blues, a little country. Couple dozen Japanese pressings and MFSL. Tons of classical cut outs still in shrink wrap. All stored straight and vertically. It’s time to downsize. Want to move all, not one at a time.
  20. For me, they get the chili gravy/cheese ratio right. That photo that BearCountry11 posted over in Noach Austin is all wrong, for my tastes anyway. Way too much cheese unless there is an ocean of chili gravy under that cheese. At El Pat I always have enough gravy left, after eating the main stuff, to dip another few tortilla chips or a corn tortilla, or slurp it up with a spoon, which always gets "that look" from my wife. Guess I'll have to get used to waiting an hour at Dart Bowl.
  21. How do you keep the shades from flopping around in the wind?
  22. Not that Bob replied to blacklab's topic in Austin
    Austin is now dead.
  23. Anyone know what is now on the site where Victoria House was, or the address of Victoria House. I would like to stay as close as possible to the place of my fond memories. Damn you, Ivan!
  24. Say...come here Goofy, you buck toof mutha fucka!
  25. Any secret tips to making custard? I could never find the sweet spot between raw egg/scrambled egg.
