My first truck did not have seat belts. 1968 Ford F-150. Straight 6 240 cubic inches.
Growing up my parents had a platform that hooked over the back of the front seats to provide one flat continuous surface in the back of the car to play around on while traveling.
I have equal mixture of Indian Hawthorns and Dwarf Yaupon Hollys. My Indian Hawthorns are questionable if they make it through. The Hollys look just fine. They are all about 17 years old. Never had an issue with the Hollys either. Have had to combat black (brown?) spots with the Hawthorns the past two years. I am in NE Texas.
Have always enjoyed Bob Hope movies. Plus the Road to _________ series with Bing Crosby and Lamour. Never been a big fan of Hepburn but have caught of few of her movies, most recently being The African Queen.
I play basketball with guys that have kids near the same age as my grandchildren.
Me: “I met so and so today while playing basketball, they went to school with you”.
Kids: “Don’t hurt yourself dad”.
Some of these baseball cards look familiar to me as I am sure that I may have some of them in my collection that I still have from the '70's albeit not in the best shape. Too lazy to go look right now.
Nice collection BTW.
This right here. I am gone quite a bit so I have my neighbor collect my mail and do a walk through through the house a couple of times a week to monitor things. I give them a nice gift card/cash at the end of the year around Christmas. It is not that hard to figure out.
The “Eyes” have it. The motion carries in favor of keeping the song. Now, on to other business.
Next in the agenda is: winning football games.
All in favor say “Eye”.
Not a fan of the Royals but I was in London a few years ago and I was able to observe "Trooping the Colo(u)r" Birthday Parade for the Queen. It was pretty neat to see the Welsh Guards, Grenadier Guards, Scots Guards and the Coldstream Guards, along with the Royal Family and other dignitaries in all of their regalia parade down the avenue leading from Buckingham Palace.
My first post in this thread and I have not read the thread in its entirety so apologies if already covered but:
I collect WW2 memorabilia so I am always going to flea markets, antique shops, and militaria/gun shows. When I ask how much that they will take for something they give me a number. I usually counter unless I know that we are too far apart on the deal. When I do give a counter they go into full-mode selling speech describing what I am looking at and how "rare" it is and its inherent value.
I (almost 55) still play full-court basketball. Most of the guys are in their late 20's to mid-to-late 30's. I give it my best but these guys are so quick. I hold my own but holy cow it is a full-time effort! Today a guy did a spin move on me and I went to shuffle my feet to block his move but he stepped on my left foot and down I went twisting around. I was going down face first but luckily was able to get my hands down first landing in a push up position before my chest hit the ground saving my face. Slightly strained my chest muscles and received a strawberry on my right knee (multi-purpose floor). All of the youngsters were concerned about my health but I popped right up. I am sure that tomorrow I will feel it a bit more as the stiffness will set in.
Why would the University go through the process of initiating an investigation of the song with a multi-background committee, that according to some will make a recommendation to keep the song, but to only have the University ultimately retire it? Is your crystal ball better than the school's?
