  1. The Penn Station/Dulles thing is so perfectly on brand for him. It's one of those sort of in vino veritas things. Meaning, it is totally true, he's give Schumer whatever he wants for those things. But it's also outrageous enough that he can say "jk, jk, can't you people take a joke" if called on it.
  2. At this point, I'm surprised Putin hasn't offered to rename Ukraine after him if he will force Ukraine capitulate. Or maybe Zelensky should try that. And he is so fucking jealous of Obamacare. And the fact that the people and media dubbed it that instead of Obama himself. I have to begrudge Trump that licensing his name is good business, in the same sense that Kardashians are astute business people (meaning, they are, but they aren't, really). But the reality is, that's a happy accident for him because the real reason he does it is he loves to see his name on things, Even really shitty things. And he probably doesn't get enough in return.
  3. Well, birth and a special set of bootstraps.
  4. That's a perversion of the notion of evangelization. Not saying you perverted it. As I think has been mentioned, real Christian evangelization is spreading the faith by education and example, not coercion or force. Making people want to adopt the faith, not forcing them to. I think true Christian doctrine recognizes that man's world is man's, while God's is God's and any attempt to merge the two is futile. Render unto Caesar. So, even voting for a fellow Christian in hopes that he will make government more Christian is a futility and not something commanded. And certainly any overt effort to convert government to a "Christian" government, by any means, including electing the AntiChrist, is a fools errand and not commanded.
  5. Thanks for the input. IVF is an interesting category, setting aside any politics. I suspect there's a fairly small market for them. I have no idea what the insurance coverage situation is. And I might guess that both the incremental cost of production of those drugs is relatively high along with the fixed/sunk cost of development, leading to their great expense.
  6. Maybe in some cases. Like, I see the Lispro is in a vial, whereas the current state of the art is in a (patented I'm sure) injection pen. Does that make any real difference, probably not. Maybe a bit more dose precision or accuracy for the elderly or really inept. But I think the key is, these discounts were already mostly available through direct sales from pharmas, which I think they do to deflect criticism. Also probably available through Cuban's deal.
  7. A cult of the stupid and banal, at that. Fucking Kid Rock.
  8. So, does a guy like that even "practice the law" anymore? I'm relatively certain being chairman or whatever title managing a good-sized law firm is a pretty full-time job, just on the management part alone. Then you add in the influence-seeking and power-brokering, and fuhgeddaboutit. And this seems to be where you get entangled with people like Epstein that can make or destroy a career. Also, hasn't he been chairman or whatever for a long time? AFAIK, most Biglaw rotate these guys in and out for about a year. Then they go back to practicing the law. Also, in litigation law, we know the bigshots try cases periodically, while the more transactional guys sit in boardrooms and give broad strokes advice backed up by the juniors and associates who actually do the work. I've always been in smaller firms where the bigshots, even some of pretty national prominence, spend huge amounts of time on the phone and in meetings dispensing broad strokes advice, but still basically practice the law, even if it's not in the trenches.
  9. So, this TrumpRX site is now live. First off, the name. Christ on a crutch. It offers drugs, through pharmacy and manufacturer coupons or direct sales, at a "discount." A whopping 43 drugs, including the wildly popular GLP-1 weight loss drugs. The only basis for comparison I can find is GLP-1's the prices of which are roughly equivalent to what the manufacturers were already offering on their websites. Also, reduced prices or the best rate only available through the end of April. If anyone sees a drug that is at a significant discount to what's already available, I'd be interested to know. For example, I see Lispro insulin "starting at 25." But I see goodrx coupons for from 31 to 51. But it's hard to apples-to-apples that. Also note that because these are purchased outside insurance, it doesn't contribute to deductible. So, overall, seems like a bullshitty, attention grabbing move that's not really making a dent in the problem or solving anyone's issues in a significant way. And the name, oh sweet Jesus, the name.
  10. Also goes by Immac.
  11. The specter of electoral life without Trump is becoming more real. Their wall of stupid cruelty and racism is crumbling a little bit.
  12. Y'know, I never said she shouldn't be disbarred. I just said it was going to be harder than everyone thought, and then the Bar tripped over its dick. And I explained that.
  13. And I don't get downtown, or even uptown much anymore. I've only been to their North Dallas location, quite some time ago. It appears to be the only location now. https://delinewsdallas.com/contact/ But yeah it was a pretty authentic deli.
  14. One of the reasons they did that was to keep his account from being deleted.
  15. The OG location on Central is more deli-like than the others.
  16. And the reminder not to be a bunch of pigs is a good thing. Oink.
  17. Arrogance. Intellectual arrogance.
  18. I actually contemplated this. I think his text posts are clearly his, maybe sometimes paraphrased from something someone else wrote. His "retruths" or repostings are probably his. He can do that. I have doubts whether he could actually post a video or even a video still. That would require downloading it then uploading it, or copying a link. Also, kind of stupid that they'd claim the video is some Lion King video, because that's not what he posted. He posted a still with black Democrats as monkeys.
  19. Better late than never, I guess. But what the fuck took you so long?
  20. Probably worth noting, though, that it was just two of them. in Minneapolis or another more liberal city in a liberal state, there would have been a half dozen in the house and a half-dozen more outside. What's kind of fascinating to me is that they enter a house, a task that they are not legally entitled to, and also a potentially very dangerous one. And they leave without their ostensible target? Or the guy that "interfered" with them that they tackled?
  21. What promises has Abbott made?
  22. It may be true that she led a sheltered life. And that she saw it as ok because of that, or, for other reasons. Whether she saw it as ok or not, her job is to whitewash that maniac's bullshit and all the other bullshit from the maniacs in the administration. And she damn well knows it.
