  1. Missing the playoffs is a lost season. They are not making the playoffs so…..
  2. This is a favorite after multiple viewings through the years. Always a fun family discussion around the witches broom as a phallic symbol and it representing Thomasin’s sexual liberation at the end of the movie. Also - Black Phillip is creepy af.
  3. The idea that CDC would repeat sins of the past is shortsighted. He has shown no signs of that. I’m not saying losing Sark is the best thing - but football Armageddon? Nah.
  4. I watched a movie last night called Beast of War. Australian WW2 movie with a killer shark? Hell yes! I think they did an amazing job for what really is a low budget B movie. They chose to go with practical effects and the shark is F’n terrifying.
  5. They couldn’t wait to get rid of him in Calgary. Why would we hire a guy that barely made it two years there? Anyone know? Just because he was an assistant for the team that kicked our ass?
  6. Looks like it’s getting a major theatrical release in 2026.
  7. For horror fans I cannot recommend Kanopy enough. It’s free with a library card (limited) or use your kid’s student account (unlimited). The library is top notch - and you can really dig in to some obscure indie/classic/foreign stuff if that’s your thing. You could just use Tubi and Kanopy for a very long time and be happy and spend nothing.
  8. I would counter that Jason Kidd is the Sark of NBA coaches. [emoji1787] Having the kid run the point is insanity. Also - fuck the Spurs and that alien that have. That shit ain’t fair. He could score 100.
  9. Cure, Battle of Algiers, In the Mood for Love (4k), Memories of Murder, Rushmore. Thanks for the heads up! Edit - Wes Anderson Archives (10 films) for $250 if that’s your thing.
  10. Smile 2 is far superior imo.
  11. Fucker You’re a fucker
  12. Just started a rewatch with my kid. Tight tight tight!!
  13. I posted about Preston in the other thread. He made the Jumbotron every game we went to last year as well.
  14. I thought this was as good as anything he’s done. Can’t wait for the rest. Tim Robinson’s Office Space.
  15. V/H/S Halloween was indeed wild.
  16. This seems like a conspiracy to make sure the UK hates the NFL.
  17. If you are not familiar with Curry Barker I think you will be. For $800 he made an amazing found footage movie called Milk & Serial. A YouTuber I really like and respect - SpookyAstronauts - came to Austin for FantasticFest and watched his new movie called “Obsession” and thought it was one of the best horror films she had ever seen. I can’t wait to check it out.
  18. Wish we could change this thread to Asian movies. I want to talk about Cure (Japanese). Holy shit I’m not sure I’ve ever felt like that after a movie. I felt hypnotized.

Agree with all this. A really cool indie project with a few jumps scares. Would definitely recommend checking it out - but temper your expectations. Post-credit thing was great.
  20. Loved Strange Darling. I think I did a similar list for 2024. As far as 28 Years Later - I think once I see the new one it will make me appreciate this one more. I hated the way it ended.

House of Eden 4/10 Haven’t seen Together, The Shrouds, The Long Walk, or Strange Harvest but I’ve heard good things about each. I’ll post again with some other great movies I’ve seen this year that weren’t released in 2025.
  22. Necrobump. Halfway through season 1 and enjoying it. People seem to circle jerk over this show as much as TW/BB/GOT so I had to check it out. Already thinking I’m going to need to take notes.
  23. I don’t think it’s going to make a shit this year. Our schedule is legit. So yes, fuck Ohio State.
  24. Just rewatched The Lighthouse. The Dafoe curse scene has to be one of the greatest acting scenes ever. He never blinks once. We’ve all been there tho - a feel like that anytime I’m in charge of dinner.
  25. My ESPN+ feed is a continuous loop of Lego commercial.
