I’d love to hear some other interpretations of Red Rooms. I think I’ve mentioned this movie in this thread in years past but just watched it again and came away with a completely different take. This is an absolute must watch if you like intense thrillers and/or true crime.
I don’t know how this got by me - because I try to watch any documentary of note - but there is a doc on Max called “Life of Crime 1984-2020” that is one of the realest and grittiest docs I’ve ever seen. The guy spends 36 years with three career criminals. There are Parts 1 and 2 as well if you want to see more content from the earlier years - but the latest “version” is the collection of everything and how it all ends. Absolutely heartbreaking and reminds you of those types of docs HBO used to commission back in the 80s. Absolute can’t miss.
Fargo Shawshank A Few Good Men Pride and Prejudice Wind River Best in Show Dumb and Dumber Beaches Double Jeopardy Glengarry Glen Ross Napoleon Dynamite I, Tonya Addams Family Values Jack Reacher Masterminds (no idea why)
Great list - I’d add: The Witch: Part 1 Exhuma The Call Gonjiam The Host The Medium A Taxi Driver Past Lives A Hard Day Forgotten The Good, The Bad, The Weird
F1 with the Dolby audio was epic. I don’t know where you guys are going with all the audience interruptions. People on their phones can happen and I’ve experienced some talking (especially during horror movies) but it’s been pretty rare. My theater of choice is AMC Clear Fork in Fort Worth which might be part of it. Newer theaters are so loud - it would be hard to hear someone talking. Not to mention there is a decent amount of spaces between the rows. The theater experience for me and my family has always been something we love. I’ll pay the costs - keep the doors open. Bring back the boutique theater experience as well.
Not playing tonight in Dallas. Can you imagine how pissed you’d be if you shelled out 200-300 to go to the AAC and then she sits out? I’m so glad I didn’t buy tickets…..
It’s actually 16 movies a month - they just changed it. I pay $24/month and can see up to 4 movies a week at any AMC theater. Additionally I can skip the concessions line and get discounts (small but they add up) on food. It’s a ridiculously good deal imo. Only issue with me is finding movies I want to see. I live closest to the Clear Fork AMC in Fort Worth - which is a great theater A/V wise but they hate showing anything that’s not mainstream. I don’t even think they had Sinners opening week? Let’s have 12 screens showing Lilo and Stitch or whatever instead.
Better the 3rd time than the first. (Admittedly I have the AMC A-List and I struggle to find 12 times a month I want to see something at the theater). Highly recommend the vinyl.
