  1. What is the good in keeping him? What part of our program would get worse if he's fired? On the field play? Recruiting? Fan support/morale? Press coverage? Please tell me one thing that could get worse if we fired Tom right now, tonight? I can't wait to hear it.
  2. Would make a nice night for other news to fly under the radar. Like a firing, for instance.
  3. Then we'd probably be stuck with Tom? The only if that matters here is if Tom had been a better coach so games like those would never have been in doubt.
  4. Don't waste your time. Someone linked a podcast by the old Houston punter where apparently he talked at one point about Herman checking out on the team once he knew he had a tx offer. Problem is, there were several episodes and no mention of where to find the section on this. I'll just assume it was true.
  5. Have you seen the 21 and 22 classes currently? The next coach will need players to win, so that more players want to come here. We're currently losing them. This is our concern, dude.
  6. Read the room, cdc, read the room.
  7. If this could be in any way substantiated, I hope Herman gets fired without a cent of buyout money.
  8. No, you're right. I was off by a year. He started at OSU in 2019 after Meyer.
  9. The only possible reasons I can think of for this are: 1) he was on osus staff under Urban at one point, right? So there's at least some connection. But more importantly 2) if Ewers really was sold on Yurcich as reported, your best chance at bringing him back might be to convince him Herman was the problem and under a new HC he'll have the offense he was sold. The second one is a super longshot, but I could see keeping Yurcich on in some capacity if you believe it gives you a better shot with Ewers.
  10. It can't possibly be any worse than it is...
  11. My list if Meyer says no looks something like this: - anger - depression - alcoholism - hardcore drug experimentation - lose job/home/family as life spirals like a Tom Herman recruiting class - get it together and go to rehab - start fresh - get stable enough to reengage with Texas sports and realize we're still a dumpster fire with whatever g5 coach we hired - fall off wagon - start process over
  12. I think you're confusing him with@NowThis.
  13. Right or wrong, I'm currently choosing to believe that Ewers decommitment was the final straw, and the only reason Herman has not been fired already is that we're two days out from a game and it puts the players/coaches in a strange spot. I'm in the camp that, win or lose, Tom Herman should not be giving a normal Monday presser because news should already be out that he's done. I just can't imagine any other rational explanation for him still being our coach today.
  14. I know, I'm kidding. Mostly I'm at the point where either Urban says yes or I really don't give a fuck. It's option 1 or fuck all of this.
  15. Considering we just lost a huge recruit this morning and our program is spiraling terribly, the odds that a new poster who shows up with super secret inside info is an aggy troll vs legit feel quite high. On the other hand, I like the drug he's selling, so it's probably legit.
  16. Imagine if Vince had decommitted less than 90 days after committing. That pretty much just happened, on top of the other things you mentioned. Oh, and a bunch of stud recruits we were after are going to osu now, probably related to the decommitment.
  17. I see no reason to doubt the validity of this information. Sold.
  18. Prior to this, I was in the camp that you couldn't pull the trigger on Herman until you were ready to announce the next coach. As clear as it has been that Herman needs to be gone, we had a strong 22 class started and you couldn't risk shaking that up with a poorly managed transition. Now...
  19. This is the huge knock on his tenure so far. It was a giant misstep that even from a risk reward perspective made no sense. Herman wasn't going anywhere regardless, so why extend? That painted us into a much worse corner at the moment. We can navigate out of it, but it's harder than it needed to be and that's on cdc.
  20. Assuming he's going to Ohio State, you can safely say that lack of rational, reasonable, patient fans is not the reason he second guessed Texas.
  21. What he does over the next few weeks will likely define his tenure here. I'm still giving him the benefit of the doubt, but he's definitely on the clock at the moment.
  22. I've had a text exchange with some friends who are die hard Texas fans over the last week and the feeling is pretty consistent. Either we get Meyer and we can find reason to stay engaged, or we don't and we're all out for a while. This shit has not been fun for 10 years or so. It's too much time invested for something that never gives you any positive returns. This was all before the Ewers news, so...
  23. Can anyone reach out to the osu bmds and see if they plan to pay off the refs again? I'd love to contribute to the cause
