Also as far as packing you don’t need any clothes besides shorts and t-shirts. It’s muy caliente here. Bring hats and lots of sunscreen. The sun is way stronger than in the United States.
Don’t know. It works for me.
yeah the insurance requirement is gone. You just have to upload a copy of your vaccine card on their health pass website and answer some questions. It generates a QR code you save on your phone and use that when you enter the country. Some stores/restaurants/bars will ask you to show that but we haven’t run into any of that down here on the coast. Maybe it’s a San Jose thing.
Well if I’m going to be completely honest here that was our first marlin of the day and I hooked it on a teaser bite. But the next marlin was a rigger bite and after I hooked it I was holding the rod in one hand and turned around to hand it off to a friend and - oh shit - rod goes flying out of my hand and into the water. I’ve fished all my life and never done that. Our American mate dumps our long rigger bait into freespool for about 15 seconds and then starts slowly reeling in and comes tight. He miraculously snagged the line. Reels a little more and there is our rod and reel. Pick it up and hand it to my friend and the damn fish is still on. Fifteen minutes later we catch the marlin. Fortunately none of this is on video and if anyone ever asks me if it happened I will deny it or at least blame it one someone else.
Hurricane Harvey, building a new house, and Covid kept me away from my girl for way too long.Gonna spend a few months down here on it, fish a bunch, and list it for sale for way too high of a price. The market is on fire. If it actually sells I’m going to downsize to a one bedroom 35ish foot boat which is all I need for fishing here. @troph y’all better get down here soon
Internet down here is screwy. Don’t know what happened on the other post but this is Cindy’s marlin. Had to wake her up and get her out of bed to reel in the fish.

Well it was way too cold so we ended up never leaving the airport. Thanks for all the suggestions. We found this on the walkway from gates 1-5 and sort of hung out there.
Due to a flight cancellation I’m stuck with a 9 hour layover at Houston Hobby on Thursday. I’m not going to sit in the airport that long. My original thought was I would find an outdoor restaurant/bar patio but now the weather is going to be in the 40’s.
So open to suggestions on any restaurant/bar where we can hang out for 5 or 6 hours or any other suggestions for something to do.
Yeah I got confused and thought I was replying on our Texas thread. It’s (Omicron) crashing everything and everyone no matter how many shots they’ve had now as you know. As the Texas thread starter I’m happy to say I don’t give a shit anymore. Won’t be popular with some people but I was that way after my 2nd shot. We aren’t responsible for idiots that won’t get vaccinated. I’m vaxxed, boosted, and living my life.
Um, there used to be an aggy family in Fulton with a pretty good menu and very good food but they are gone I believe …….. Charlottes hasn’t been good since about 1984.
