Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Blake Munroe’s Scrimmage Notes: - Let’s start with the biggest news first. Matthew Caldwell was the 2nd string QB today and looked considerably better than the other two backups, according to the source. - There were some minor injuries today, which included Jelani McDonald’s foot, Trevor Goosby’s hand and Maraad Watson getting a little banged up. - I’m told for the second scrimmage in a row, wide receiver Emmett Moseley was held out. - Safety Jonah Williams was also held out while nursing a hamstring issue. - The offense worked a lot out of 12 personnel. The starting tight ends in that package were Jack Endries and Spencer Shannon. - Ryan Wingo had another phenomenal day, picking up where he left off last weekend. - When they went 3+ wide, the receivers were Wingo, Parker Livingstone and DeAndre Moore. - Daylan McCutcheon and Kaliq Lockett were the other two receivers rotating in with the starters today. - Tight end Nick Townsend showed flashes of brilliance again and had some big plays. - Spencer Shannon was described as a player who won’t have a lot of yards after the catch, but will still come away with receptions. - Running back James Simon was specifically mentioned as having a big day. - Graceson Littleton, Hero Kanu and Cole Brevard all rotated in today with the 1s.

Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen
Bobby: Not the news many want to hear, but In this day and age of recruiting, things can change fast. As of this minute, sources tell OTF that IMG Academy edge Jake Kreul will likely pick Oklahoma over Texas and Ole Miss tomorrow afternoon. The Sooners seem to have prioritized Kreul. Texas already has one of the nation's top defensive ends pledged in Richard Wesley. Where does Texas go from here? Texas definitely wants two defensive ends in this recruiting season. The Horns will likely wait things out until the season gets underway. Then, they will identify and bring a few players in for official visits in-season.

Bobby on Branch Bros: Texas is definitely in play for the brother tandem Zachariah and Zion Branch, formerly of USC. Zachariah is a highly ranked wide receiver who is an absolute jet. Zion has been a reserve defensive back at safety for the Trojans to this point. We’ll see where this goes. But I am told Texas is a possibility as of this morning.- Transfer Cycle 2024-2025 - Stop Being Poor

CJ: Matthew Golden had himself a very solid scrimmage. Sounds like he found the end zone on a jump ball situation, but was also someone Sarkisian tried to get involved early and often throughout the live period. After a quiet first scrimmage, he was a standout today.- 2024 Fall Camp Thread - Bubble Wrap ALL THE RB
Bobby with some good RB news: I am told that Texas has been very happy with the work of Jerrick Gibson at running back. Very happy. He has stepped up and is being more and more reliable in each practice and is working to understand pass protection at the college level more and more. At this stage, we expect Gibson to have a role on this team out of the gate. Now don’t get carried away. I’m not talking about starting or being the premier back. But his work as a strong, smart inside runner has been on display. For a team that needed someone to step up following the injury to Cedric Baxter, Gibson has answered the call to this point.- 2024 Fall Camp Thread - Bubble Wrap ALL THE RB
From Bobby: Will have more tomorrow. - Practice was under the lights inside DKR. - They pumped some music in and got the place loud. - Not full pads. Helmets and shoulder pads only. - A couple of turnovers, one pick thrown by Trey Owens in the flat and one by Arch Manning over the middle. - Silas Bolden and Ryan Wingo continue to receive rave reviews. A twisting catch by Wingo down the sideline was one of the night’s highlights. - Colin Simmons looked particularly good in some one on one pas rush work against Cam Williams. - Quinn Ewers and Manning both looked good overall. - I should have more for folks in the morning.- Transfer Portal Development - Feedback Needed

Gerry on WR visiting tomorrow: OnTexasFootball has learned that Sunshine State 4-star wide receiver and Oregon commitment Dallas Wilson (Tampa, Fla./Tech) is scheduled to make an unofficial visit to Texas June 5 per a source close to the recruitment in Tampa. Wilson, 6-2.75 and 185 pounds with 10 inch hands, was offered by the Longhorns in September of 2023. Special teams coach and area recruiter Jeff Banksmade the offer to Wilson. Since that time Banks and Chris Jackson have been on contact with the wide receiver with tremendous balance and body control. Banks made a stop at Tampa Tech High in May to watch Wilson practice, spending nearly three hours at the school. At that time, Wilson told OnTexasFootball he was looking at a possible visit to Texas but wasn't sure how dates would work out. The visit Wednesday is a relationship building unofficial visit with an official visit a possibility. Wilson is scheduled to make official visits to Miami June 7-9, Florida June 14-16 and Oregon June 21-23 this month, and possibly Florida State in November for the Seminoles-Gators rivalry game. While Wilson remains committed to Oregon, the continued thought from May in the Sunshine State is that the Ducks could face a tall task to keep him in the fold. Wilson hauled in 49 passes for 872 yards and nine TD's in 2023. He caught 40 passes for 875 yards and 12 scores as a sophomore.- 2024 Transfer Thread - The Pedantic Circlejerk
