  1. I guess this is legal, not ethical for sure but.. just wanted to hear some thoughts on this.. The company just sent out an "emergency compensation" form they want us to sign that contains this condition. 1.Employee acknowledges and agrees to a temporary compensation reduction in line with the assistance it receives from the federal government related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Employee's base compensation rate will not be changed immediately but, to the extent that the federal government passes relief legislation that provides direct assistance to individuals, employee's compensation will be reduced by: (a) 100% of the government distribution for the individual; and (b) 50% of the government distribution for any dependent that the individual claims. --- So basically, an employee who has one dependent will receive $1700 in stimulus from the government ($1200 + $500 for the kid), the company will deduct $1450 from your paycheck.

The company I'm working for is already cutting salaries by 20% and suspending bonuses (for those who aren't being fired). On top of that they will reduce our pay by the amount we're receiving from the stimulus. So that's nice..
  4. 'stache, I honestly don't see him not winning again unless there is complete financial ruin and a huge death toll. People are scared, most don't want to change leadership during a crisis. There are a lot of good people that don't like Trump that won't vote for Biden.
  5. Yes, new fresh ideas!
  6. You've obviously been hurt deep. I'm sorry man.
  7. We've seen the worst of humanity at the start of this thing, the hoarders and the talking heads will be fuzzy memories and background noise in the next few months. The best of us will come through. 😀 That, or we're completely fucked. ☹️
  8. I'm talking about all of us, we're the country. I'm hoping we can see through all of the bullshit and come together.
  9. Trying to be funny, that's why I "boooed" myself because it was horrible.
  10. I think it still can. As a fellow poke fan I'm sure you understand cockeyed optimism.
  11. Ok, the best possible outcome starting............NOW!
  12. Holy hell. Didn't realize I implied all of this.
  13. Or there will be feelings of relief and good will if the best possible outcome occurs? (I really don't want to rehash my "fuckface" question from earlier in the thread.)
  14. yeah, that and the whole social distancing thing.. (booooo)
  15. Not defending or condemning. Just think people are working a little too hard to keep political score. Here my dumb ass assumed an existential threat like this would finally bring us all together.
  16. I really think he's just hedging. Deep down in his heart he still believes this "will go away in a couple of months when it gets warmer". He's playing along with the "panic" because he knew the economy was going to tank anyway. Why not go all in? When this does level off eventually he will say his actions mitigated the damage etc.. I'm not saying he's smart, but it would've been incredibly stupid not to play it this way.
  17. Yes, of course. Gotta keep this an echo chamber.
  18. Ahh, I've never really been in here. Sweet Jesus. Enter at your own risk indeed.
  19. How can you all underestimate the American public like this? Anything less than 100K, he's the goddam messiah.
  20. Come on man, you have a number. You want it to be bad enough to where Trump doesn't look like a hero. Be honest.
  21. How many are you hoping for?
  22. This is what I meant. Not completely lock in for 2 weeks.
