UTSA v Texas - 6:30 p.m.SEC Network+
I would say most years you are going to have at least 1 annoying midweek loss and some years it might be 2. You just can’t do what last year’s team did and lose to UTRGV and A&M Corpus while also dropping home series to BYU and Washington. That is how Q4 losses stockpile quick, but I don’t think this team is in too much danger of that with pretty much every SEC series being Q1 or Q2.

Hard to believe that UTSA team lost 2 of 3 to UT Arlington to start the season.

That wasn’t even a bad pitch from Ruger. Low and away offspeed and it wasn’t even a balanced swing.

Burns and Winfield were probably our two most hyped up transfers and they are borderline unplayable.

The rest of this season looks very different if Dre misses any amount of time. That is my #1 concern right now.

He’s a good pitching coach, not a miracle worker

I sure hope so because the other option was he got nervous for a 5-3 midweek putout against UTSA

Burns does not have it. Not sure why he is still out there.

That 2-0 pitch on the caught stealing was right down the middle. Like literally center center.

Cain was holding Galvan? He really is the most conservative third base ever.

It’s been a slow burn with him at the plate but you can see him coming around. Next year may be the year he hits .300 with double digit homers and steals while playing gold glove defense.

Just don’t ask him to track a fly ball

Ruger gonna get an inning or two against his former team? Only threw 25 pitches on Sunday.

Texas Baseball 2025 - Your SEC regular season champions!!
I'd be pretty surprised if Galvan caught tonight. He was already banged up heading into last weekend, then caught 14 innings on Sunday. Farmer's defense is good enough to where you can probably stick him in the 9 hole and let him fight through things. Outside of him and Winfield, can't really think of any viable options unless they throw a Jonah Williams hail mary or something unexpected. I would assume the freshman position players outside of Rodriguez and Chamberlain (Scott, Luna, Jordan and Richardson) are all redshirting at this point if you haven't played 18 games into the season even in blowouts.

If they don't advance out of a regional, I put it at a coin flip that Earley gets a second season. If they don't even make a regional (which is now on the table), I don't think he is getting a second season. I'm already dreaming up a scenario where Earley is fired and Grahovac is a Horn for his final season.

Listening to what Lemonis said postgame for Mississippi State and he brought a rule I didn’t even think of: On the botched pickoff attempt, it was actually a balk since Grubbs attempted a pickoff with no one covering the bag. So on a balk you get to take the result of the play or one free base. So Lemonis went out to say they would just take the free base after his guy got thrown out at home, but the umpires told him once a runner tries to advance more than one base, the balk is nullified.
