  1. Yeah it’s tough. You could see how Lopes reacted to that in the ring. 50-45 (or even 49-46) may be accurate, but doesn’t reflect that each of those rounds was very close. Volk definitely won, but I wouldn’t say dominated like a 50-45 would imply.
  2. My big takeaway from the main event is that Ilya and/or Armen run through either of them. I was kinda hoping the move to Paramount meant DC wouldn’t come with (wishful thinking, I know).
  3. I prefer to remember them as Brutus and Niobe. Gotta give respects to Rome.
  4. I feel like this episode was weaker than any episode in season one. Still good, but I fear they’re going to “level up” everyone’s personality traits for the worse (first obvious example is Mel being extra Mel, but getting that with Dana and a couple of others too). Hope I’m wrong. Any guesses on cliffhanger? Some sort of narcotics in system?
  5. This. If your argument is “eye test” then you have a flawed system. And it was mentioned up thread but the problem is the current conference alignments allow for wildly disparate schedules. This isn’t that hard but when you have 130+ institutions all looking out for themselves only, you get this mess.
  6. My son and I were two of the dozens in attendance. Saw the Huskies live three times this year (tOSU, Illinois and now Boise). Brutal that this game is so early in the bowl calendar, ain’t on anyone’s radar this early. SoFi is crazy, but totally lifeless tonight. UCLA games will be awful there. We’ll see if we have a coach by the end of the weekend or if we’re in a full rebuild again….
  7. Dana confirmed that he did in the post fight presser
  8. Does no comments mean no one watches this card? Turned out to be fantastic. Great performance by Yan taking out Merab. Hopefully the Paramount folks tell DC to get lost. Him trying to convince us that Merab was winning this fight because he was able to hold Yan around the waist and do no damage is painful. Bummer for Pantoja. Dude has been so dominant. Sucks that he loses his title like this. Hope he can come back strong and we can see him and Van get after it. Stoppage was early in the Moreno fight but he was in a bad spot. Payton Talbot looked great against a washed up Cejudo. Would have liked to see him finish him though. Gutsy win by Blachovic. Good one to retire on.
  9. He was at Fresno before UW so he has spent a few years in the west coast. His daughter still plays softball at UW. The former AD at UW who hired him is now the AD at USC. His player personnel (or some such title), Courtney Morgan, is an LA native so they probably think the recruiting pipeline at SC is easier to tap than Bama’s. The bigger question to me is, who would really want Reilly? I can’t see a UF, PSU, etc. I guess I could see a 2nd tier Texas school like Baylor or TCU.
  10. Supposedly extension with UDub agreed upon and to be announced this weekend. As a UW fan, I don’t think there was ever any real interest from UF. So this must mean Fisch’s agent has learned that UF has agreed with Sumrall and can’t leverage that opening anymore.
  11. A lot of UDub folks are fans of his for his work during DeBoer’s tenure. So much so that if he has a solid results at OSU that he’d be on the list once Fisch leaves.
  12. Apologies if this has been asked and answered but who is pushing for this at UCLA?
  13. He’s definitely a job hopper and if this wasn’t the era of losing a coach means your entire roster turns over, I’d bet most Husky fans would drive him down to Westwood for the Bruins, especially after that “performance” in Madison this weekend. But after the fallout from DeBoer leaving after the 2023 season, no one wants another restart. UCLA can’t pay more (or won’t).
  14. Top series for me: 1. Band of Brothers 2. The Wire Third would probably be Deadwood, or maybe Rome Worst series: John from Cincinnati
  15. Shoot, I’m watching the full replay on FS1 right now. Amazing
  16. Petros had a good idea for UCLA. Convert on-campus track stadium into a ~45-50k seat stadium for “regular” games. Then use the Rose Bowl for “big” games (USC, Ohio State, etc). Not sure if they can swing it with their lease obligation (and building our Drake and deal with the Westwood neighbors) but I thought it was a good idea.
  17. How about Bama opening too? If the Falcons blow out Morris, do they make a run at DeBoer to reunite him with Penix?
  18. Wouldn’t the police assume that Jayson has the bag? Tom knows Robbie had it, he found Robbie dying, and knows Jayson got away. Pretty safe assumption to think that Jayson stabbed him a got the bag, no? Glad Maeve got the cash. She deserves it for being willing to put up with Wyatt. Good to see that dude’s wife is a good person by selling the dope and delivering the cash to Maeve. Hope Robbie told her to take a piece and escape. A lot still to wrap in this finale next week
  19. I’m glad they made Grasso the mole and not some crazy double-secret mole situation. as mentioned, feels like we’re gonna get a few flashbacks in the next episode(s) as we’ve already got the players in place for the final showdown. I still think Maeve has a key role to play in the outcome. It would be disappointing if her arc is essentially done for the season. Just not sure how they insert her back in the “action.” Is the showrunner a WWE fan? Robby’s kids’ names a nod to some fallen superstars “Wyatt” and “Harper”?
  20. Out of left field: for some reason, I get the feeling Grasso is there to “investigate” Tom and it has something to do with him being a former priest. Like Tom knows about some stuff that went down and that’s the real reason he left. Like I said, wild theory. But the previous signals in this show have proven correct (e.g. Eryn as noted above) and now we have obvious signs from Plimpton (which is so obvious it feels like a swerve). So the show runners feel like they “have” to throw in some major curveball. I hope I’m wrong and they focused on a tight three final episodes to wrap this.
  21. Yeah pretty sure the older daughter spelled it out. Something’s up with her - after they brought Ruffalo home with a severe concussion and they specifically said “no alcohol” she goes to talk to him with a glass of wine in her hand. Super cool thing to do for your dad (yes, I know he had already poured himself a glass).
  22. Sorry, poorly worded on my part should have read “did Kirsh advise Boy…”. Said more plainly, does Boy know that Arthur is dead?
  23. As a Berkeley grad, you’re not looking at the Tree? They held an inordinate amount of power in the Pac. I always felt it was their influence on Larry was what led him to the brilliant idea of focusing on the Olympic sports, which can’t pay for themselves, instead of focusing on the one thing that funds all of the other programs. SC left because they had to. UCLA should be diverting a good portion of their BIG share to SC for being close and agreeing to take them.
  24. I can’t recall, did Kirsh advise that Arthur was unalived? If not, my guess is he thinks they’ll round Arthur back up (he knows he didn’t get on the boat) and “implant” him. That gives him a smart person and he can also see how implanted Arthur interacts with Dame.
  25. Yeah, the BIG has made it clear where the West Coast teams sit in the pecking order with the schedule. Of their 9 BIG games, Washington plays FIVE teams coming off of a bye (including OSU and Illinois, who both travel to UW). Oregon has four (including, conveniently, Penn State, Indiana and Iowa). That’s not a random effect of the schedule generator. Not to mention the 9am games.
