We have no jalapeños......
Popeye’s apparently ran out of chicken a long time ago, based on my last few times I went there. Not sure what the things are they are serving now.

The Napa / Sonoma Wine thread
We go outa couple of times a year. We really like staying in St. Helena. It os mid-valley so convenient to a lot of areas. It is also less crowded and much more low-key than the city of Napa. If you want some suggestions on hotels, restaurants and wineries let me know. Late February will actually be a goo d time because it is low season, so you should have plenty of options.

Is it this or is it that so many other great places have opened up that the 'que, though maybe really the same, just doesn't stand out as much anymore?- Texas BBQ

Allocation/shipment season is starting! What are you getting? My list: Piper, Pott, Seven Stones, Immortal, Memento Mori, Harlan Mascot, Scarecrow M. Nothing wrong with WSM. I just like being able to set the digital temp control and not have to worry about the temp.- Treager
Yes. Had one for about 5 years. Early on, I was a little disappointed with the temperature control, which seemed to fluctuate too much. They came out with an upgraded controller, which I bought and installed, and it’s been great (keeps the temps in a tight range). It is on the new models so it won’t be an issue for you. I call it the lazy man’s smoker. Easy to use, easy to get up, throw on the meat, and go back to bed. Couple it with a good remote thermometer and it’s basically idiot proof. I am comfortable leaving the house if I need to do so even for an extended period. It’s also great for just putting a low temp smoke on meats then searing them. You can’t get it as hot as, say, a BGE, but you can buy sear plates that work pretty well to increase the direct heat for searing. Even without that the high setting will cook whatever you need, you just won’t get the classic grill marks with the sear plates. I will never go back to an offset, but, hey, I’m lazy. Been looking at upgrading to the new Timberline model.- Bourbon
Bought a bottle of Heaven’s Door Double Barrel Bourbon yesterday . Have never tried it — anyone had this before?- Wine
How was the 2011 Fairchild? I've had a really mixed bag with 2011 Napa cabs in general, which was a problematic year in Napa. Had a few good, a lot of "meh" that tasted OK to start and fell off completely, and some bad ones. Opened a 2011 Herb Lamb cab last week; it was awful. Not corked or tainted, and it had been stored properly -- it was just awful. I've sworn off 2011 vintage for Napa art this point. Instead of spending time debating the merits of his question, or telling him he should ask a different question, why not just answer his question? I guess you guys have never asked a question that you needed answered, and not re-phrased for you- Game Atmosphere
JFC dude. This is football. Despite the defenestration of violence happening with the fucking sport, it's still all about bringing the pain. Fuck off with this love shit. Apparently you haven’t learned the term “Irony”- A Good Burnt Orange Cocktail?

Stayed at the Andaz about 2 years ago. Nice place. Bar was great, restaurant was just OK. It is noisy because it is very near the downtown square, and there was music going pretty late. You might see if the rooftop bar at the Bohemian (very close to Andaz, and on the waterfront) will have it on. Nice views and good bar. My previous post above: "Went there in the fall of 2016. Nice area. We stayed at the Andaz, which is nice but is right on the square so it is noisy at night Drinks: go to the rooftop bar at the Bohemian — great views Restaurants: we tried a few places. Our favorites were Local 11 (Forsyth Park area), which also has an awesome rooftop bar, along with great food, and Cotton and Rye (sit on the patio if you can) Vic’s on the River was a good spot downtown for lunch"- Game Atmosphere

Assuming you can safely (from toxicity standpoint) use a fuel tank, and it’s not rusted through: Will need to sandblast inside and out, and powdercoat. There is no firebox, so would have to add, along with cutting out lids/doors and putting in grates, and a smokestack.- 2018 Ryder Cup: USA v. Europe

OK. When I think iconic voice, it is a voice that a decent segment of the population would recognize within the fist few words On this thread, of those listed, Dolores O’Riordan, Neil Young, Don Henley, Steve Perry, Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Karen Carpenter (though I am nota fan), John Denver, Barry White, Willie Nelson, Tom Petty and Chris Cornell qualify. The others are fine (or even great) singers, but not “iconic.” I am a long time rocker, but think Sinatra, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Roger Daltry, Robert Plant etc. Not someone you just happen to like that had a- All Things Brisket
I know. I used an offset for years and switched. Sometimes I almost feel bad, except when I get up at 4 am, put it on, and go back to bed, and never have to tend a firebox or worry about temperature control. Bourbon tastes just as good while using a Traeger, by the way. Maybe better because I am awake instead of dozing off- Earl Thomas holding out
