Did Youtube just start ramping up their ads to 11?
It's my school account - come on this isn't amateur hour. I can assure you nothing in my browsing history on that laptop/account has anything slightly questionable. My phone and home computer... well, I'm posting here - that should tell you enough.

Did Youtube just start ramping up their ads to 11?
Fucking youtube. Showing a video in class today to my freshmen and in the middle of a 12 min video in pops a commercial for a bra. Fucking hell. One time last week we were watching a longer video and I stepped out to go get some copies from the printer and while I was gone youtube played a 5 fucking minute commercial. My poor freshmen just sat there and watched commercials until I got back, lol.

Can we talk about Pickles?
If it's not Best Maid it's competing for 2nd place. I buy 5 jugs at a time when back in TX to take home to IN. Make popsicles with the juice - you're right, it's great after a run. A couple times when I've run out before a trip back to TX I've bought them on Amazon. Both the dill and the sour. Oh, and B&B pickles are the devil's dick.

Tell Me About Baylor
I would think it would have to be 3 days or less because otherwise wouldn't the negative tests suffice to clear them?

Tell Me About Baylor
- Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
Our school just announced we aren't back full on Monday as planned. Hybrid through the first quarter (Oct 23). Sigh. We haven't had a case in 2 weeks and right now I am not sure we even have anyone home in quarantine. Yet, let's be sure to play all our fall sports in full, especially football which exponentially increases the number of people those boys have second-hand contact with.- Post a pic that makes you say "Holy shit."
Reminds me of 2007ish Trinity University had a crazy play like that to win the game; buddy of mine was the QB. I think that play won an espy.- Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
My cheap ass school won't pay for the tricked out version of Zoom so we're stuck with shitty google meet.- Taco Bell getting rid of Mexican Pizza - I am outraged
I'm gonna out myself as a taco bell patron every once in a while. A version of the double-decker is back but instead of refried beans they use nacho cheese.- Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
Whoa whoa whoa. I may have migrated up here for a while, but Texas is and will always be home. And to answer an earlier question - I am in Indiana at a private school with 800 students.- Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
Week 5 starting tomorrow for us. 5 cases, about 1 per week. The one we got last week was again from activity outside the building, so we're not spreading it here. We're back full on the 21st. Sports continue to be fully back - XC, volleyball, golf, tennis, football. Indoor sports no attendees other than parents. Outdoor events no restrictions for the minor sports because they don't attract big enough crowds. Football is limited to 1k as long as that is not more than 50% of a stadium capacity. Gotta say, I am shocked at how well it went. If you had asked me Aug 1 I would have said we'd be closed within 2 weeks.- NES Thread
Still have mine and a small stash of my favorite games... Legend of Zelda, Tecmo Bowl, RBI 2, TMNT, Mario 1-3, Contra, MegaMan 1-4, Castlevania series, and a few others. What we use now is one of those mini-Nintendo systems we grabbed at a mall kiosk this Christmas for $40 and it has 500+ games on it. Pretty much everything in the NES catalogue.- Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
New challenge - one of my soccer playing students got a concussion. How are they supposed to do virtual learning 50% of the time when they can't look at a screen? We have been notified that we are hybrid until the end of this month then back full, hopefully, as long as CV numbers continue to trend downward in our city/county.- MS House votes to change flag
Indianapolis has a great city flag representing the traffic circle and civil war monument at the center of downtown.- Yellowstone
Damn dude - awesome pics. I may just take those and photoshop my family in there like Michael Scott's Christmas card with Carol's family.- Cheese Enchiladas
Couldn’t take the mental torture. Made the Dart Bowl recipe tonight. Nails.- Cheese Enchiladas
This thread is peak Surly. I am fucking hungry as hell right now. For the cheese argument, why not both? I've always done my version of the Dart Bowl enchiladas putting EZ melt or Velveeta inside, and top them all with cheddar cheese. And of course the onions and fried egg.- Several shot during 3rd night of Kenosha riots
The worst.- Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
School I teach at (800 students) now in our fourth week back. We are doing 50/50 hybrid with half the kids home one day, then switch the next. Extended passing periods so classrooms can be cleaned. Desks 6+ ft apart. Daily health screening for all entering the building. We've had 5 cases, none of them athletes, and none of them got it from school - all got it at home or from family. Two of them have already done their 2 week quarantine and were back this week. It's been ok. Shorter classes and handling half the kids at home and all the new tech we are using - cameras, multiple monitors, new apps - has been the biggest challenge.- SpaceX Splashdown
- Frozen Pizza - Because sometimes is just sounds good.
If it’s been mentioned I missed it. Our goto is Newman’s Own. Either pepperoni or cheese. Best grocery store pizza I’ve had. I’ve seen Gino’s East at Kroger - will have to get one next time. Torino’s is a staple. Last one - I know it’s not grocery store pizza but it came to us frozen. Zuppardi’s Apizza. 6 pack. If you’re big into pizza do yourself a favor and check it out. Oh but beware they are on a huge back order. Placed my order in early May and got it a week ago. Now they’re out to October for shipping on orders today. https://www.goldbelly.com/zuppardis-apizza/choose-your-own-new-haven-style-pizza-6-pack?ref=category- Yellowstone
Never having seen it before I thought it was breathtaking. The view from above is amazing. And, it did seem to be more steamy than photographs.- Yellowstone
The rye is solid. I’ll pick up a bottle to take home too. This one is not as full as I’d like any more. Well looks like we’ll be taking 16 back to Sheridan. Last week I did do the drive up 14 on the east side of bighorn (only to high country - didn’t do the descent). I fully admit to being a wimp at this. Kudos to all you who haul trailers or drive RVs on these roads. It’s humbling to find something that so many people do that can kick your ass. I did feel good finishing the drive in and out of the East gate today. Not something I thought I could do a week ago. Was looking at going all the way around to Billings and the north gate.- Yellowstone
Oh and Trailhead tonight for wife’s birthday. Garlic Parmesan fries. Oysters. Arugula salad. Lamb kebabs. Pepperoni Pizza. All fantastic.- Yellowstone
Well what a wild ride so far. Monday we got to Cody, took it easy. I went and got a bottle of Single Track Rye per Pato's rec. Kids played at a park, we walked the main street and had lunch before checking into our rental and getting supplies and groceries. I took my oldest to the rodeo and wife and youngest stayed home. Today we left just after 6am and headed to the east gate. Silbey pass may be the most daunting thing I've ever driven. But, we made it in and shortly after getting to end of the descent and circling the lake we saw a grizzly digging for grubs or something. From there it was just a ridiculous day. We stuck to the lower loop and stopped at all the big sites, looked around, hiked. Grand Prismatic from above is the highlight for me. The only thing we missed was Mud Volcano, but we are getting up earlier tomorrow and going to the north end of the Hayden Valley, taking our time to come south before our fishing trip at 10am. For veterans of Yellowstone like Pato and others... here's my question about 14 going east to Sheridan (not 14a). Is that stretch more or less challenging than the east gate from entrance to the bridge? I am not a huge fan of mountain driving and it really racks my anxiety, but I've got my playlist that I use for those times and am beginning to find ways to just deal with it. - Running thread of the disaster that is the new school year
