I’m a big fan based on the first pour I had. A very punchy Rye in all the right ways. Not sure the low frequency Metallica had anything to do with that, but it’s good stuff.

Gonna give this guy a whirl tonight.
  3. OL’s don’t get fixed in a year. And before you go on about the portal, good to great OL don’t end up in the portal very often. You might get a one year bandaid via a grad transfer, but there is no magic wand that turns dog shit OL play around in 12 months. The staff better have rock solid evals, or this cycle will just continue.
  4. It can in the sense that 1 game can pause momentum. And this one likely will.
  5. Jorginho for Saul was a much needed substitution at the half. He’s provided stability and confidence in the midfield and Villa have looked much less threatening. The second goal certainly helped as well, but it’s hard not to notice the difference in how much control we’ve had of the match since the half.
  6. Wow. That was mighty generous of Mings.
  7. Mendy looking like a volleyball player out there. We’re getting owned in the midfield today and it’s going to bite us in the ass here in a minute.
  8. Saul is not off to the best start. Hopefully he adapts to the EPL quickly, but he’s been a liability thus far.
  9. That through ball from MK was phenomenal. Brilliant vision and perfectly weighted.

I’m glad that I thought to sign up my wife for the email raffle.

I so badly wanted VFR to be great. I’m a big Woodford fan. I’ve gone back to it several times, and I’d say it delivers on the fine portion of the name, but that’s about it. The nose is pretty great, but it just falls apart on the palate and has next to no finish for me. Great looking bottle though.

    I haven’t had 1, but I’d rank the ones I’ve tried 3, 4, 2.

Little Book 4 is delicious. It falls short of 3, but that’s because 3 was next level good. Life’s too short to not give things a shot. I’m in for 5 no matter what the reviews say. It’ll be something different and unique, and I place a lot of value on that.

Confiscated is a big bottle of meh. The wiseman bourbon and batch 3/4 of the rye are pretty good, but nowhere near worth the MSRP.
  15. Fucking Anthony Taylor man. Ruined what was shaping up to be a beautiful match with his bullshit. Fuck that guy.
  16. That’s absolute grade A horse shit.

I actually did sell them and got $550 for it. So basically I was paid $200 to drink a unicorn bottle of PVW23. Tbh, I wish I hadn’t sold it. Not because I wanted to keep it, but because I’m worried some asshole is going to try to pass it off as the real thing. I didn’t include the original cork topper on purpose but who know what people are willing to do if there is money involved.

Nope. $350 at Wiggy's Liquor down on 6th street near Z Tejas. I should clarify that I found it by calling basically every liquor store in town that day in a quest to find a Pappy 23. So if you want to say that it doesn't count because I called first, that's fair enough.

My greatest shelf find ever was this one:

Maybe. But so much of 4 is that 15 year Kentucky juice that has been peddled to everyone under the sun. Doc Swinson, Old Bones, Three Chords, Prideful Goat, etc. all use it. Not saying it’s not good whiskey, but it wasn’t good enough for whoever distilled it to sell under their own label. Again, I love them both. I’ve told countless people that they should be out there hunting all things Discovery, which I’m a bit conflicted about given what they did with batch 5.

I'll respectfully disagree. My preference between these two varies based on the day. It's a close call and both should be purchased if you happen to stumble across either one. I'd take both of them over Disco 5, hands down.

I haven't had Dovetail so I can't speak to that.

Seagrass is a definite buy. The Rye shines through, but the flavors from the various barrels it’s aged in definitely show up in a positive way. I also have the Armida, but the Bourbon gets lost in that one and it doesn’t really work as well.
