I think Sam is too afraid of potentially throwing an INT, which is why he waits until a receiver has stopped his route and stares back at him as a confirmation that he is ready to receive the ball.
While I hated the overuse of Epps as much as anyone, he and Jake play different positions. Jake had a superstar senior WR ahead of him, and I think he acknowledged at one point the benefit of learning from Duvernay. Judging from his recent twitter feed, it doesn't appear as though he is too invested in the team. He is liking twitter feeds from Clemson and others and yet nothing from the Alamo bowl. Some kids have hard time adjusting from being THE guy in high school to being chastised by coaches for mistakes in college. Hope he sticks though.
They have dominated Big 12 since it's inception but they only recently started to recruit at a high level after Lincoln Riley was hired. OU doesn't have the inherent recruiting advantage that Texas does, which means they have to sell harder than Texas to get the same level of recruits. Once things become stale, they will revert back to recruiting top 10-15 range, which seems to be their normal instead of top 5-10.
You can't compare a senior CJ to a sophomore Eagles who only saw limited action so far and was coached by Coach Meh. I expect him to have a breakout year next year assuming he stays healthy.
OU has nothing new to sell at this point. Last year, they sold "we are very close to winning it all once we have the defense turned around" and then they went and hired a new DC. The results on the field wasn't any different, so what do you sell now? I expect them to have a below average class in 2021.
Baylor is Big 12's Utah. Outperformed their talent level in the regular season but when they are matched up against a team with more talent, they start chocking. UGA will win it going away even if they don't want to be there.
Our league lacks talent. We have few teams that can get up to play Texas and OU but their lack of talent becomes apparent when they are matched up against a top tier non conference team.
You're right! I thought about this when he flipped but didn't want to post it. You obviously help a human being in need no matter what but the way it went down didn't sit well with me.
After the longhorn nation came together to support his mom, his decision was especially shitty. They far exceeded their GoFundMe target, and I don't think it was because of all the Utah fans.
