I think they probably fuck FSU in that scenario absent a true beat down of Louisville. Doofus chairman's first words about FSU were something like "they are a different team". That's why I continue to think it's really clear that we should be rooting for Bama, although very unlikely they win.

Game Week 13, 2023: Texas v OSU championship edition
I mean, they arenāt very talented because Gundy is a redneck shit head who ran off a bunch of his good players. Seems like that should factor in. But happy for the bulletin board material. This team seems to have some of that āand I took that personalā energy, no matter how small the slight.

What would make 2023 a success? (poll)
If we win on Saturday, it will be our third most successful season in about 30 years (acknowledging our 08 team got fucked, but it is what it is).

What would make 2023 a success? (poll)
I said Big 12 championship in the poll, but if you told me at the start of the season weād be 11-1 heading to the Big 12 Championship with a legit shot at the playoff, Iād call that a success every fucking day of the week after the last 13 years.

THE College Football Playoff Rankings Thread [MICH,WASH,TEX,ALA]
Itās been explained a million times, but why the hell not. Texas, Michigan, Alabama, Oregon and Louisville win. Michigan is locked. The committee thinks Alabama and Georgia are 2 of the best 4 (taking into account Georgiaās incredible 3 year run, as youāve pointed out), so they want to find a way to put in both. They canāt get over putting Bama over Texas given head to head. So they justify Texas jumping Oregon by our win over Alabama looking that much better by virtue of Alabama beating Georgia. Michigan, Texas, Alabama and Georgia go in, Oregon gets fucked. Itās unlikely (and Georgia going in would be unprecedented (albeit a small sample size)), but itās not 0%. The reality is that the committee can do whatever the fuck they want and find justification for it.

Yeah, Iād prefer not to turn down 10-20 snaps of pretty good safety play after what weāve seen this year.

Tell me about New York City
Since we had our first kid earlier this year, my folks have been trying to find a studio in an elevator building with reasonable access to the West Village/surrounding area for $500K or so to replace their hotel visits. Pretty fucking tough sledding so far.

CFB coaching carousel
So spend $10 million or so on buy outs just so you can find another coach that will in all likelihood get you roughly the same results, so that you can do this entire song and dance again in 5 years. College football at its finest.

CFB coaching carousel
You are experiencing a bad case of Aggy-itis. Chipās gone 8-4, 9-4 and 7-5 in the last 3 years, which is like, exactly what you should expect as a UCLA fan? You want to waste money on a bunch of buy outs and fly a banner so you can go find another coach to build you up to an 8 win season?

Texas Recruiting Notes 2024: Bags Don't Beat Bankrolls
Elite recruits were flipping/committing to Charlie Strong (I think the most comparable recent coach to Napier) even when it was abundantly clear that Strong was a complete disaster. Sometimes teenagers don't make logical decisions.

Unlike the polls, SOS doesn't arbitrarily stop at 25.- Tell Me About Texas a&m
Billy Napier is a Charlie Strong-level disaster of a head coach, so I include Florida in the Arkansas territory assuming they retain him. Losing to Billy Napier should be a for cause fireable event for any coach. I don't think they'll go 0-4 against LSU, Missouri, ND and Texas, and I don't think they'll go 4-0 against the teams you mention. But 8-4 should be very manageable absent a complete roster implosion or total failure of coaching. Both of which could of course happen, since it's A&M we're talking about.- Tell Me About Texas a&m
I mean, they really should go 8-4 at worst next year. Their schedule is super favorable. No Alabama, Georgia or Ole Miss, and their four toughest games (ND, LSU, Texas and Missouri) are all at home. ND and LSU are relatively down, and although we should be better than A&M on paper, it's worth acknowledging that we have to replace a fuck ton of talent on both sides of the ball next year. If they can't get to 8 wins next year, it's a really bad sign for them.- THE College Football Playoff Rankings Thread [MICH,WASH,TEX,ALA]
Maybe, but it at least puts us in play. If Georgia wins, that spot is 100% taken and we almost certainly lose out to Oregon. Sadly, I donāt think weāll find out because I suspect Georgia will win and cover.- THE College Football Playoff Rankings Thread [MICH,WASH,TEX,ALA]
You are wrong, as has been explained many times. Bama beating Georgia absolutely helps us, although by no means guarantees we get in. It strengthens our win compared to Oregonās win over Washington (whereas if Bama loses, Oregon can claim both a better win and a better loss compared to us). If Bama, Texas, Oregon and FSU all win, Iām betting Texas gets in. Whether thatās over Oregon or Bama, Iām not sure. If Georgia, FSU and Oregon win, we are toast.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

Just remember that you are on the football board and it should clear up any confusion. Every scenario is blindingly obvious to anyone with a lukewarm IQ.- The movie you just watched
Afire on Criterion Channel, from Christian Petzold (his movie Phoenix from about 10 years ago is really excellent, for anyone who hasnāt seen it). A slow burn (no pun intended), with an exceedingly unlikely lead that is so good at being unlikeable it almost ruined the movie for me until the final 20 mins or so.- Tell Me About Texas a&m
