2007. LSU had 2 losses, Kansas had 1.

Once the playoffs expand to 12, we are regularly going to see teams that have no business being there winning championships.

I think he's assuming the Cotton Bowl would take TCU. As Big 12 champions, KSU would get an auto-bid to the Sugar Bowl.

Win more than 8 games, and the Alamo will just be something you guys talk about remembering.

Depends on what the committee does.

It happened in 2007, just off the top of my head.

It's definitely possible for TCU to lose and still make the playoffs. They can't lose by more than 2 scores.

Most people don't support it. Just stating how they expect it to shake out.

I hate the targeting rule so much.

Two more years of this Big 12 nonsense.
Do the coaches vote on this? Because it's really not that much of a stretch that a coach might be inclined to believe that the best defensive player on a team he lost to deserves the award over the best defensive player on the team that he beat.

Matt Campbell is a little bitch-made pussy
Their program has never won 10 games, so "best they have ever had" doesn't mean as much as it does at most places.

ISU can't fire Campbell. That would be firing the best coach they have ever had. They should not be upset if he leaves, though. They can do better.

Left Behind: A Quick Dose Of Post Big 12 Reality
Did Tech sell out when Leach was coaching them? A lot of these schools would do a whole lot better with a little success. The most frustrating thing about TCU is they are undefeated and still don't seem to care at all.

Oklahoma State and Kansas State. Maybe West Virginia? No idea on the newcomers.

TCU can't sell out their home stadium.

Conference Championship Games - Discussion
I think the winners end up being Georgia, Michigan, Utah, and Kansas State. The playoff seeding ends up: 1. Georgia 2. Michigan 3. Ohio State 4. Alabama

Yes. I'm sure Scott Frost proudly claims he won a national championship at UCF. But ultimately, a G5 job is an audition for a P5 job. You take that job because it's something you have to do to get consideration at one of the schools the system favors.

Yes. That's why all of the good ones leave the G5 schools.

As unlikely as it sounds, a championship is the ultimate goal of any coach who's worth a shit. And the new playoff format with autobids allows programs like Georgia Tech the opportunity to earn a spot on the field. It's a lot more likely than the current beauty pageant that would just about always require them to go undefeated.

I think it's clearly a step up. The schedule will be comparable to what Tulane currently faces, but the AAC is losing most of its best programs, and simply being in the ACC makes a playoff berth a whole lot more likely.

I'm not sure if I would agree that it's a low pressure job when Crist won 10 games most years and still got canned.

Yeah, that is how life works.

I really don't understand why so many teams don't try to return kicks.

He probably would have gotten away with it if he wouldn't have tackled the player from behind.

I feel like Deion would do well at Colorado. But then again, I think most of the coaches they hire should do well there.
