There's not a ton out right now but my local theater lets you get in cheap on Tuesdays. I'd see Hamnet or Marty but they haven't screened either. So I went and saw Send Help on a whim. Fucking. Awesome. Sam Raimi shows off some late-career magic that I definitely didn't expect from him. McAdams is great but the other lead - Dylan O'Brien - was especially good. Looks like he's mostly been in goofy, teenager schlock until now. Worth the ticket and worth a watch. I kind of feel like cinema is having a comeback. There just weren't that many movies worth ten or twelve bucks even 3 or 4 years ago. Ultimately there weren't enough pictures of Spiderman but I can forgive that. (btw - elite date night movie if your girl doesn't mind a little violence/suspense)
I covered this recently. I would think $2M at a minimum depending on what he hears from scouts. If he gets graded anywhere better than late/borderline 1st or has a team tell him that if he falls to x spot they're taking him I would think you're tacking on another million at least for him to consider it. The money isn't apples to apples because generally the sooner you can get to the league the better and you always risk blowing out your knee or something if you come back. It's also one year vs. two of guaranteed money. Best odds for him returning is for him to stay right on the bubble and not want to risk falling to the 2nd round. The difference between going 30th and going 31st can be pretty big - it's not like the NFL. One more thing - you have to consider that other teams will be bidding against Texas. You never know what number another program could put in front of him.
Texas was awful in non-con and it will keep dragging us down until we get to 9 or 10 conference wins or upset more good teams. As already discussed though - being an 11 seed and/or first-four isn't bad. You can make a run from there.
Denver loses but OKC wins. Go into tonight 4 back of #1 and 3 up on #2. Probably won't catch OKC if J Will can keep covering the games SGA misses. We can definitely widen the gap on DEN/HOU. @ the Lakers tonight after they played OKC last night. Would be a bad loss if we're being honest. TCB
Curry, Jokic, Giannis, Booker, Tatum, Brown, Embiid have all signed at least three deals with their first team. There's more lifers (so far) than most people think. Don't think I'm missing any stars. You could throw Murray in there I guess but I'm not really giving him any credit for sticking around. Same with Tatum/Brown since their teams have always been good although I could see JB wanting his own team at some point. Booker is the one who I give the most credit by far.
