  1. So they hired the nice guy version of Tom Herman in Napier. Maybe Sumrall is just full on Herman? This would their 5th bad HC hire in a row. You hate to see it.
  2. Bowman SiB is out there at Houston Total Wine locations.
  3. Completely butthurt in every Harden take. Not a great stretch for him.
  4. If the trade market premium is Coby White for Sexton we need to get the fuck out right now.
  5. I’d do a late first for Ayo. The Bulls are going to be a difficult trade partner. They always think they’re in contention when in reality they’re in some play-in Groundhog Day hell. Thus, they’re asking for young, established NBA starters under team control.
  6. The Enclave stuff is interesting. Are we finally working towards the final boss? I’m glad I watched the credits of the finale. Hopefully Maximus throws Lucy the no strings attached fuck he passed on in Season 1. Ella Parnell has really grown on me. She’s quite lovely and a good actress. She held her own with The Great Goggins.
  7. Carvey was great on SNL. The highlight of his career. I like his lesser known characters such as Lyle and Massive Head Wound Harry.
  8. And so it begins. ESPN.comCoach Jon Sumrall takes away Gators logos to push new teamOne of Jon Sumrall's first moves as Florida coach had echoes of Hall of Fame coach Urban Meyer's approach in 2005, which paid off with two national titles in his first four seasons.
  9. i don’t get it. Garland is hurt all the time and has about $100 million left on his current deal. Harden has been largely healthy the past several seasons and has $15.8 million left this season, and a player option next season for $42.3 million. I believe it’s only partially guaranteed to the tune of $13 million. So less money for a better player who actually plays.
  10. While I like Windhorst, he basically said Harden would block the trade because Cleveland couldn’t pay the trade bonus, $2.3 million. This was at 3pm CST. It’s OK to be wrong, but he completely misread the situation. Harden will gladly eat $2.3 million if gets another extension.
  11. How in the fuck did Chicago go from 2 seconds for Coby White, trade for Ivey and Simmons, and then ask for Jabari for White?
  12. Windy basically said the 2 Bulls trades will expand. Hopefully the Rockets latch on to the Ivey or Simons deals, and they acquire Coby White for a second.
  13. The price has to be bottoming out for Coby White. The Bulls acquired Ivey and Simons today. Allegedly they tried to out White in the Ivey trade and the other party said no.
  14. Windhorst said they will continue to tank this year. If they rise out of the bottom 8, their 2026 fist goes to OKC so they’re motivated. It’s a nice roster even without Kessler playing. Tanking is going to be tough. I hope they’re prepared to get heavily fined.
  15. Sounds like the Grizz got Ainge’d.
  16. Do the Jazz have a bunch of late firsts in the same year and they don’t want to get 2025 Nets’d? If so, they didn’t give up much. Holding on to George and Bailey is a big win.
  17. My concern with Paul is that the Clippers have played much better since he was sent home, 18-7. Perhaps it’s coincidence, perhaps the guy was a pain in the ass. I think Chicken’s head is in the right place. Projecting the buyout market has to be a tough job. Smoke screen upon smoke screen from the teams, deliberate agent leaks, and internet shenanigans. It’s like going to Aldi. You can’t go in there with a recipe. The plan is get the best stuff you can find and go from there.
  18. I read some more color on it. Basically, Harden has a player option next season and can’t sign an extension with LAC. He has to seek a trade to get another contract. Garland is probably the best the Clips could get back in a trade. I have no idea how this didn’t come to light sooner. There are entire podcasts dedicated to the salary cap, and there are legions of internet Harden watchers.
  19. Kind of an unfortunate break up. The Clippers have been good for Harden, but the organization was rightfully cautious. He has a player option for next season and he can’t sign an extension with LAC. Every single player in the NBA would seek a trade, and chase another contract. There’s no fault here. Not sure why FVV would approve any trade. Ime loves him, and the Rockets have been the only team willing to pay him. His only shot at another 8 figure extension is to remain in Houston.
  20. I like the trade for Cleveland. Garland is always hurt and is undersized. They had to get off of him. At least Harden plays and is big enough to rebound. Maybe he takes some offensive pressure off of Mitchell, and Donovan can play better defense? The pick and roll game with Harden and Mobley/Allen should be pretty strong. Tons of lobs. The trade makes zero sense for the Clippers. They’re 17-4 in their last 21. They’re in the play in right now, and have a decent chance at the 8 seed. Even if they've been informed that Kawhi will be suspended after the all star game, they have no incentive to tank.
  21. I know it’s a travel deal, but I hate the NBA stacking games. Season ticket holders don’t want to see the same opponent on consecutive nights. We’ll see. The Clippers could look much different after Thursday. If Kon’s threes are falling, we probably split with the Hornets. @ OKC is an auto loss until proven differently. 5-2 is probably the best case scenario.
  22. If the Garland - Harden trade goes through, the “Conspiracy Bill” Simmons segment will be deranged. “The Clippers were winning too much, so Sam Presti called in a favor and forced a trade. OKC can’t resign everyone, so they need to draft a young star to keep the championship window open.”
  23. They said the same thing about Belichick 3 years ago. Carter is universally well liked and was consummate a pro. I agree with you, but if a handful of crusty old sports writers band together on any number of Harden negatives, and they could keep him out for a year.
  24. Valid points. Segun has vastly improved on defense, but he’s never going to block shots like Adams. Jabari is probably the second best healthy shot blocker on the team, but he’s not really what I would call a rim protector. Reed should probably play with Capela more to give him a rim protector and some pick and roll concepts on offense. I think Ime views Reed as an instant offense guy, and that’s it. If his shot isn’t falling, he won’t play him. If Reed was like 4-6 from 3, I think he probably plays in the 4th.
  25. I’m sure Harden will love leaving his native LA to freeze his ass off on scenic Lake Erie. He’s behaved the last few years. I’m sure he’s worried about his legacy and going in on the first ballot, but this could set him over the edge.
