Hear hear We only worship one coach, and that's the one who's name is on the stadium. Even then DKR was a hired gun like all the others, but he did bring respectability to UT Austin (not just the football program) so the reverence is warranted.
The teams playing may not have the exact same roster they had during the season, but it's still players on the roster and many who will either be starters next season or hitting the portal. Not every matchup is a great one, but take our Cheez-it bowl for example...about halfway through the first quarter I didn't really care we were missing tons of players we had during the season and just enjoyed watching the future do their thing. Seems the transition from Anthill to Tyanthony will be relatively seamless, and Christian Clark looks completely back from his Achilles.
Anyone with a set of eyes who watched this game is unable to use the tired "they didn't want to be there" bullshit, pads were popping from kickoff to kneel down. They can't use the opt out excuse either, ABC took care of that narrative by using a little graphic showing a 3 to 9 advantage for Michigan when it came to notable players not suited up. I knew in theory we should have as much depth as anyone, but this little exhibition bowl game confirmed it. As long we don't have droves of players hopping in the portal (Parker Livingstone, what in the actual fuck?) I feel good about the roster for next season...hopefully we cherry pick wisely from the portal.
Same. If this game we're in Miami I'd like the Canes to come out on top, but I think the incessant crowd drone in collie station gives aggy just enough retard strength to lift that car.
Not only will he be okay, he'll have another DC job at a high profile program before you know it. If not USC or Oregon, he will get other offers. I feel Muschamp is what we need for the SEC, but PK is far from the worst DC we've had in my lifetime.
The sponsors, everyone involved at the venue and TV networks will disagree with you. That said, I also think it's time for the old bowl system to go away. I really don't know how some of the mid December bowls with no-name matchups avoid losing more than they make tbh, but the number of bowl games seems to continue growing so I guess there is some financial wizardry involved.
I just look at as a replacement for the spring game, except the opponent isn't ourself. Oh, and of course a much bigger deal for the players involved of course, not really a glorified scrimmage.
Is there a running list of declarees, portal jumpers or those who want to get started selling insurance asap? I didn't list eligibility since that seems to be unlimited these days.
Nobody has a right to slander Wisner. Iirc he was either the lowest rated RB commit in his class, or lowest non-special teams player overall. Kid has played with a chip on his shoulder since day one, and has had some good days when healthy and the O-line decides to block someone.
Interesting, could this be our first case of NIL making jumping the NFL at the first opportunity no longer a priority? Not getting my hopes up, but I think he would have participated in senior day if he already decided to make the leap.
