How else are they going to pay to have guys suddenly have flat tires, grandma in the hospital etc when Texas has Junior day? They tried the FedEx thing a while back, kinda backfired. $2k handshakes are much safer.
TSRH ^^^ He's one of those 5* recruits that actually plays like it straight out of the box. With a full year of experience under his belt he's gonna be dangerous wherever he lands...and I hope it's UT.
Transfers are going to become so common most TV talkings heads may mention it once and never again throughout the game. Hell, with teams like the Fightin' Freshwaters and aggy nearly every player will have a "transfer from X school" beside their name. Idc where our transfers come from as long as they help us win games.
In the 88 years of the Heisman, (hey look, something older than the one and only aggy title!) there have only been 3 WR's win the award and it just so happens our coach was drawing up and calling the plays for the last one. Yes, very mystifying why any receiver would want some of that vs dwelling in aggyland for a year[emoji848]
I'm beginning to think Josh and Billy have a thing going, NTTAWWT...but I do hate to see a Georgia guy get swallowed up by the aggy cult. It has definitely had an adverse affect on his sports objectivity.
Pretty sure Bond is the one who amazed me by going up and getting the ducks thrown by Milroe in our game...even if it cost him a vicious hit. Hookem Bond, Isaiah Bond [emoji869]
Ch12 must be a very young current aggy student if he doesn't realize they've been doing just what he said for decades now. Futility for sure, but still[emoji23]
For real. Last time I was down there for a cousins graduation (against my will) was 2011 and it was nowhere near what I consider a metro area. To me it was like a smallish/medium sized Texas city that runs together with a small city that grew up around a college..far from a metro area.
One of two coaches we couldn't afford to lose gotdammit. Surprised someone hasn't come after Choice offering to tack on bullshit "co-OC, running game coordinator, special assistant to the HC" etc titles . The NFL may not value RB's anymore but they're still vital to winning CFB games.
Agreed, but right now Sark is overall better for Texas. I'm not into the whole coach worship thing that seems to be common in the SEC, (including aggy) and totally fine with DKR being our last and only...especially since it was before my time. Coaches have always been mercenary, but moreso now than ever before.
They mainly keep them confined to the palatial football facilities. Probably drive them there in SUV's with total blackout windows and don't let the Corp turds and milkmen anywhere near official visit activities.
Did you even see our receiver room this year? Sark isn't like our past coaches who rotated players in and out just to get them on the field, he's a continuity guy. Cook was lucky to get what little playtime he did, and that's only because Sark knows he's taking X's spot next season.
I could be wrong, but I don't think the coaching staff is "supposed" to be directly involved in those talks, but they can direct them to people who will discuss it.
That does make us sound like true SEC fans, so I guess a little prophetic? I can see why they didn't follow Nate's story exactly (nobody cares who the long snapper is as long as they have good snaps) and that's just typical Hollywood style sports drama, no biggie.
