  1. He's no longer a student as of today, but not real clear if he got kicked out of school (you’d hope) or if he left of his own volition. Either way there is no chance BYU just learned of this when he was arrested. These people are just not cool to have in your conference, especially when they will just say they knew nothing about this. I feel bad for the accuser because those LDS people are going to drag her name through the mud once someone finds out who she is.
  2. Watched it last night. I enjoyed it. I missed the first few minutes, but got up to speed pretty quickly. Movies like this are cool because they are outside a normal movie you’d see. I am a Sam Rockwell fan because he was in my favorite movie ever, Jojo Rabbit. His character in this movie was really well done. Several instances where people laughed out loud at some of the absurdity, myself included. I would say go find this in a theatre and watch it. It will not be a waste of time and I think you’ll leave it having enjoyed the experience.
  3. I think @realgreggym may have already left this mortal coil and joined Epstein down in the 7th circle of hell. A real believer in the cult would still be here calling people libtards in the DT threads.
  4. These people are fun in the same way Baylor people were fun when they were defending Briles. Stuff like this is why BYU should never have been let in any conference. The bolded part is for emphasis. I don’t believe in violence, but this cult member deserves a frying pan to the face.
  5. This is a good question. I guess we will get more answers as time passes. BYU campus police assisted in the investigation with search warrants on this. It just seems odd that police on campus were assisting with this yet not a soul in the football building or athletic department knew a thing. I just do not trust schools to make the right decisions with so much money on the line. I don’t trust ASU to make a better decision for the same reason. I really don’t trust schools like Baylor or this one to do it.
  6. I don’t see Crockett’s messages. I put the cult members like him on ignore and do not care one bit about a thing they have to say. I went to a very small college years ago that had a similar honor code though. I broke it once, but it involved drinking and I paid for it the next day at practice. I did lose a teammate that season to him getting a BJ in the park. The woman who did it went to Chapel the next day and confessed AND named him. I would say that yes they do cut ties quickly on the honor code violations, but money will change things or they’ll just go back to being a bunch 25 year old Mormons missionaries on the team and not have any real talent. My bet is long-term money wins out over questionable ethics because once you get a taste of winning and have the money to keep winning you don’t go back. This is especially so in the Wild West of college athletics. This one is too unbelievable though for BYU to have not known about this. A year without knowing this guy had been accused of rape seems highly suspect.
  7. So this was kinda humorous, but cool. I had my headphones on when I got on the bus the other day and was not paying attention to who the driver of the bus was. You get familiar with many of the bus drivers here because O’ahu is the biggest small town of an island you can imagine. Anyhow I get on and when I am getting ready to get back off I notice that it’s my favorite bus driver Kayleigh! She’s hilarious and is always in such good spirits. She had driven me several months ago and I distinctly remember how happy and talkative she was. She had driven my friends and I back from the North Shore recently and made a full bus a good ride back home just by being kind and funny. I told her after that trip that the next time I saw her I’d give her something for her kindness. I took my headphones off when I saw it was her and apologized for not recognizing her. She remembered my name and I gave her a small gift just to say thank you for making my day better, as well as many other people who she sees while at work. Still leaving the headphones on most of the time, but it’s nice to have been able to see her again and thank her for being a good person.
  8. So very important. The most important.
  9. I felt like this was a movie you needed to see in IMAX. I also enjoyed Ford vs. Ferrari. This one I just enjoyed seeing all the technology that goes into the stuff off the track. Pretty cool.
  10. The Salt Lake TribuneBYU football player charged with rape told police ‘all se...The court documents against BYU wide receiver Parker Kingston was unsealed Thursday.I am just tired of these guys saying it was consensual especially if detectives looked at the text messages and decided that no it was not, but also that prosecutors consider him a flight risk as well on this.
  11. So this is the part that I am attempting to understand. Did BYU know that he was potentially facing rape charges before the season? The articles haven’t been real clear on this. If the head coach or school knew how do you let him play under those circumstances? The fiance thing. She had to know something about this. There is no way he didn’t mention that he might be facing rape charges at some point over the last year. And for sure. He’ll definitely run for congress there eventually with this badge of honor.
  12. Kinda sounds like it. If you take a year to put together the case I’d hope they have ample evidence of the crime.
  13. Here’s a picture of our accused rapist at BYU’s last home game with his fiancé. This was last weekend against Houston.
  14. I really wish the Big XII had never invited this trash into the conference. Shoot them and Baylor straight into the sun. This was their leading receiver last season. He played the entire year despite this first having come to police attention almost a year ago. Throw this coward under the prison. ESPN.comBYU receiver Parker Kingston charged with felony rapeThe first-degree charge against Parker Kingston comes after a nearly yearlong investigation, the Washington County (Utah) Attorney's Office said.
  15. So I met someone years ago who was from Long Island. They were at a dog adoption event and they had picked out a dog. Well Boomer was there since he's also a lifelong resident of Long Island and he says he wants that same dog. The man who picked it out, in not so many words, told him to get bent and he didn't care that he wanted the dog and that it was now his and that being Boomer meant nothing to this guy. He knew exactly who he was and he more/less just laughed at him for trying to big-time him on getting a dog.
  16. As an actor he was alright I guess, but him staying out of the service during WWII was a monumentally awful decision on his part that forever marred what he did after that. He chose making more money than serving his country and his daughter said that decision caused him a lot of pain the rest of his life. John Ford in particular heckled him so badly on the set of They Were Expendable that Robert Montgomery, his co-star and Naval Commander during the war, had to take Ford aside to tell him Wayne would not make it through filming if he didn’t stop with the constant harassment. Ford had been the one filming at Midway as the air battle happened and also never got over Wayne’s lack of service in the war.
  17. I went to see this movie last week and wasn’t feeling good so I went home halfway through it. I wasn’t sure about going back to see the rest, but very glad I did because this movie really took off in the 2nd half. Well worth watching. Rachel McAdams was fantastic and so was Dylan O’Brien. I don’t really go to movies for directors, but apparently if you like Sam Raimi you’ll enjoy this.
