  1. Lewis was on it all quali. Great job by him. He deserved pole. McLaren looked to have the best pace, but neither of their drivers could pull out the lap like Lewis and Max did. McLaren had way less deg than Ferrari and RB in practice, and their second runs on the same tires in quali were faster than everyone else by a good bit. I'm expecting they'll be quite a bit better in the race than everyone else. Lando probably can't win the sprint from 5th unless he gets a great start, but Lewis will need Max to fight Oscar hard. If Oscar gets past Max early, he's got a great shot at winning the sprint.
  2. I watched the replay of FP1 and FP2. Lewis seems like he’s going to take some time to get up to speed with the car, and I’m also not sure what his ceiling is anymore at this age. It’s possible he gets to 95% of 2021 Lewis or maybe those days are gone. He was so inconsistent at Merc the last three years, but that might’ve just been the car. I’ll be interested to see how he’s performing 10 races in. Merc still seem to have an inconsistent car they don’t understand. McLaren looks good out of the box and both drivers are performing well. Hard to say what kind of lead they have over the field. The Ferrari in Leclerc’s hands looked great in one lap and race pace. He looks like the most likely challenger to McLaren this race so far. Ferrari ran the Australia rear wing in Bahrain testing, so they had way lower downforce than usual and apparently they ran very high fuel all the time, so some of the issues with the car at testing might have been overblown. All this could be dead wrong in about 12 hours, but I can’t wait to find out.
  3. Huge get for them to have F2 and F3 this year. I follow F2 fairly closely throughout the year (it's basically European Indycar IMO), and I would kill to have F3 and F2 at COTA.
  4. On one hand, rain and mixed conditions generally make races more exciting, but I’d prefer no rain in the first few races to actually get to see teams’ performance levels. Either way, we finally get F1 back! This year is our year (even though it probably isn’t)! Forza Ferrari!
  5. He’s the McLaren Racing CEO, not the F1 team principal. So his job includes things like IndyCar and other racing series so he was probably at a different race.
  6. Clark tore his Achilles in August. I’d have to think he won’t be full go for Spring.
  7. Hey now, Charlie Strong took an 11-2 program and in only four short years he turned them into a 1 win program at a fraction of the cost a good HC would cost. Who wouldn't want to run that back?
  8. This team isn’t stacked, but there’s a lot more talent on this roster than what it looks like right now due to terrible coaching. This team has looked poorly coached and disorganized all year, and now they’ve clearly quit on their coach the last couple weeks. If you give a good HC this roster, I’d expect we’d have at least 3 more wins in conference, and even more if you have a great HC, like Oats or Otzelberger. Not to mention that roster building is a huge part of the job, and Terry’s shown the last two years he’s awful at that part of the job too.
  9. That’s amazing for him. He made himself millions today, and he deserves every penny. He’s been one of my favorite players on the 40 in the last 10-15 years. That guy works his ass off and studies film like no other.
  10. Damn. I think WC94 has cracked the code. It’s pretty clear the only thing standing between A&M and winning a bunch of national titles is smarminess.
  11. He didn’t actually get a promotion. It was bad reporting by the 995er. The only change in his title was switching him from CBs coach to Safeties coach. All the other titles stayed the same. So Sark replaced him at CBs coach weeks ago, and Terry was like a month away from his contract expiring. I doubt this move was much of a surprise or hit to Sark.
  12. I think we can all agree that if there was one guy on staff who deserved a promotion, it was Terry Joseph.
  13. He’s in West Virginia. That’s the whole house.
  14. Oh yeah, it's god awful. Screwing up a red race car is truly impressive.
  15. I would be shocked if this doesn’t happen. It would be very dumb for a network to pony up for the US rights without getting full exclusivity.
  16. Bravo, sir. This may be even dumber than your first post.
  17. Oh DetroitHorn, you say a lot of stupid stuff and this is certainly up there. Dillon Mitchell is currently averaging 10 and 6 at Cincinnati. Unless he’s bringing a better HC with him, adding him to this team would have a snowball’s chance in hell of making this a top 20 team.
  18. That used to be the case, but they fixed that last year and were probably the easiest on their tires of any team.
  19. Just a reminder that Nahlin almost never has real sources within the AD and is just making shit up 99.9% of the time.
  20. Pretty much. Leclerc’s Sam Ehlinger in this scenario. Grew up loving the team and is hopelessly committed to them no matter how dysfunctional they are.
  21. Welcome to the club. Great pain and misery awaits you.
  22. Aren’t you a ginger? Seems like he might’ve been singling someone out…
