Veterinarian in South Austin?
It's pretty amazing really. It can take a little while to get in to see him, and he's not going to blow sunshine up your ass, but you can't beat the prices. He's taken very good care of our dogs since we found him. Sorry to hear about your cat. Sucks no matter what the situation.

Veterinarian in South Austin?
Once VCA bought them, everything went up a little. It's not stupid pricey, but for example a regular exam at Dr. Rosbrock is $15.

Veterinarian in South Austin?
Tanglewood is nice but fairly pricey. We prefer old school. Dr. Rosbrock is off FM 967. Good old country vet. No frills, but he's seen it all and the prices are so reasonable that you'll shit.

I don't eat that shit, but the few old Swedes we have left seem to like it.

Official 2018 bitch about family/holiday drama thread
Over the years as our older relatives have passed on we've merged two traditions so our "traditional" Christmas dinner is now ham, enchilada casserole, three or four kinds of tamales, Swedish sausage, lutefisk, yeast rolls, and various sides that people feel like making, plus whatever delicious concoction my Dad pulls from his genius cooking mind. We always seem to have a full house from both sides of the family, and enough leftovers for three additional meals.

Today in History...
I've always admired and respected the Polish people. They've dealt with some serious shit over the years but they've always fought with pride and determination and, but all accounts, are a wonderful people. My German family loves to go there. I remember the Solidarity movement in the 80's and still see it as the beginning of the end of the Eastern Block. That's a great message and makes me proud to be an American. That's not always the case these days, so it's a good reminder of what we have been, are still at times, and should strive to be in the future.

Mass shooting ar Cali bar
I've been on Hornfans/Shaggy/Surly since they started. I just don't post much. I prefer to read and hopefully learn something. I've observed most of the posters for years so I know most of y'alls style pretty well.

Mass shooting ar Cali bar
He's being obtuse because he can't admit when he's wrong. It's his MO. He'll argue with you until you just quit and then declare victory. It's better not to engage.

FBI vs. NCAA Coaches
Well that should take about 3 years and come to no conclusions.

New Orleans w kids
Took my girls there for the first time spring break. We had a blast and they loved just walking the quarter. My youngest is into visual art and ended up buying 4 or 5 original pieces from street artists and galleries. They loved the food. We rode the street car through the Garden District and walked through the park to the Zoo one day. It was a very tiring day, but it was pretty damned fun too. Voodoo museum was a big hit. We didn't do the WWII museum but that's on the agenda for next time. We were there for five nights and didn't have any problem filling 4 full days.

2018 - Elections and Trends
I'm not sure extrapolating votes in early voting is as simple as people want to make it this year. I voted yesterday and I've probably voted R 95% of the time in the past including in the R primary. While I didn't go straight party D this time voted for exactly 1 R (a county judge who had done good things infrastructure wise for the county) and 2 Ls in races where a D wasn't running. I'm not sure I'll ever vote R again consistently. I'm center right by most metrics, but the daily actions of the Republican party today has completely alienated me.
