Where is the nick? Actual size? Sweetwater usually puts the sizing arrow next to a defect to give scale.
It looks small to me. I’d probably do worse in the first month anyways. Assuming you are going to actually play it and not case queen it/flip it, I’d go for it. Now, if the dink was on the neck where I would feel it all the time or on a prominent location always staring at me I would pass. You’ve been after one for a while now, $430 off and they aren’t making any more.
I bet they are confusing the Chronomaster Sport (41mm) with the Original (38mm).
If you are keeping it forever, fine. But I agree about buying a new Zenith. The value drop likes a rock so negotiate a good discount.
So, the Sweetwater executive that previously stole your Gallagher is done playing with it and ready to pass it on to you for a discount?
Sell some plasma or put on something pretty to work the streets for a night and keep both!
Personally, I think it looks amazing. It's definitely not the perfectly lined up flame or quilted PRS top. I like the character of the grain you have going on there.
However, you basically answered your own question with your first impressions. It's too expensive for you to be disappointed.
Beyond looks, how does it feel/sound?
I’ve asked for a wellness check to be performed at the Bogeywon place of residence. Hopefully pics of guitar soon after. If the police shoot him, I call dibs on our new guitar. You guys can have the Tele and the amps.
That top is gorgeous.
Did the seller put the original pickups back in? He says all electronics are stock, but then also comments that the burn on the back came from a careless moment with the soldering iron while swapping pickups....
Also, I have had some careless moments with a bass that picked up a ding, but never an oops I just burned my R9 moment. That must have been a bad day.
If you can find a reasonable dealer, the Kia is a good option. My experience was Kia dealers are still stuck in the old Kia mindset of taking advantage of selling crappy cars to people with financial issues.
Have you played anything at Toneshop? It is a great group of guys that can steer you in a good direction. Their shop can easily set it up to your desires. The luthiers there are great. Go play everything in the store!
I like Couch designs, but the vinyl backing can be slippery of you have a guitar prone to neck dive. No slipping with Souldier.
Another option: DogTired. They are made out of the same material that Century makes martial arts belts. Flexible but strong and no neck dive. https://dogtiredguitars.com/collections/straps-1
Wildwood?
Never mind, just saw the T-shirt in your pics.
Ridiculous that I my geographical knowledge is based on guitar shops: Louisville, CO; Ft. Wayne, IN.....
That is a sweet Tele!
This should be the perfect combo: daily driver, top down nice weather/weekender, Home Depot mulch hauler. https://www.autoblog.com/2021/06/04/aston-martin-db5-vantage-trio-for-sale/
When my son was younger, we subscribed to Pley. It was like Netflix for legos. Monthly subscription priced according to the size of the builds. He could build a set, send it back and they would mail the next one in his toy wish list. Perhaps Bogeywon is on to something here and we do that but with guitars. Scratch an SG itch, send it back for a 335.
Of course, I just looked and Pley is out of business. May not be a sound business plan after all.
We did the drive in a 4dr Wrangler. No issues. The drive is gorgeous. There are lots of places to pull off and stop for photos. No guard rails, but it’s wide enough and not scary. Everyone is going slow and sightseeing.
Denver Biscuit Company/Fat Sully’s pizza in s pretty solid on the food front.
