Duke "Incidence and Secondary Transmission of SARS-CoV-2 Infections in Schools "
CONCLUSIONS: Our cohort study demonstrated that enforcing SARS-CoV-2 mitigation policies such as masking, physical distancing, and hand hygiene, resulted in minimal clusters of SARS-CoV-2 infection and low rates of secondary transmission in schools, and did not cause a larger community infection burden. Our data indicate that schools can reopen safely if they develop and adhere to specific SARS-CoV-2 prevention policies.
Little bit of a delay in the data, but APHs dashboard shows 8k first doses administered for the week ending 1/29/2021.
According to Texas dept of health distribution list, APH received 12k first doses for the same week.
Did 4k doses fall off a truck somewhere along the way?
Yup. The age related data doesn't lie. The older you are, the worse this'll affect you. And that's a plan that everyone can understand. Oh, the 72 year olds and older are on January 12th. The 71 year olds are the 13th....
There are ways to achieve what Austin is trying to achieve without using race, if that's how they're defining "community". Start with the zip codes with the lowest property tax appraisals. Or by job classification. Or whether they live in multi generational housing. In the end APH will bungle this and not get as many shots in arms and the state will draw down the number of vaccines they get because of their inefficiency.
After reading that flow chart, Wilco or san Antonio will be an austinite's best bet to get the vaccine.
The state will continue to give those other hubs the vaccines and Austin will be left with a disproportionate amount compared to the population
Don’t tell me, but I bet you won the Powerball and Megamillions.
Feels like it.
Seriously though, if you're having trouble getting an appointment, PM me your cell and how far you're willing to travel and I'll let you know when I see something open up.
It'll be up to you to do the booking though once you get my text.
Both parents and in-laws will be fully vaccinated on Friday.
I signed them up through San Antonio website. Sucks they have to drive down for it, but they said round one was as efficient as a chick fil a drive through.
Somewhere related, I was able to get a PS5 before Christmas. To get both a PS5 and a vaccine for my folks, I had to be persistent with checking every outlet, very often.
Yeah, I could see that. It seemed like a lot of folks (meaning me) were using them as preventative actions. No one in our family had symptoms, but still used it.
From what I remember when I took my son to do the brain probe, you really needed to have had symptoms for a couple of days for the results to be accurate.
When we got tested prior to Thanksgiving and Christmas, we used Curative. There are about a dozen locations around Austin, and over 10,000 locations around the US. It's a PCR mouth swab and we got results within a couple of days.
There was no cost to us (or at least we have not received an invoice, but they're pretty upfront about the "no cost" aspect).
