  1. Literally reducing people to a number to meet a quota for arrest, regardless of citizenship or status. That's just straight up Nazi behavior.
  2. unironically call the ATM operator and your bank - they'll want to forward this to secret service
  3. Oh baby, white house using genAI to create state propaganda to support their repression of peaceful speech
  4. this prosecution is gonna shit its pants, like all of their other ridiculous legal warfare. The law they're charging her under is the FACE act, and she didn't meet any of the requirements of physically blocking people from worshipping nor threatening them with violence. This is so goddamn fucking stupid and fascist. I fucking HATE when they use a shield as a sword like this.
  5. follow up to this - I spent some time checking things, and it turned out to be my JS Blocking extension noScript. Even though I had surly whitelisted, something about how the plugin works was furking the pageloads
  6. 'member when soft supporters of the fascism truly deeply believed that they would never go after students and schools? https://v.redd.it/bx6v0yashteg1/CMAF_480.mp4?source=fallback I member. They're abducting children from schools and using them to bait the parents out. It's fucking cruel and evil.
  7. more US instruments being dumped by our (former) European trading partners. A Danish pension for $100M dumped US t-bills, and now a Sweedish pension for around $8.8 billion in US bonds https://www.di.se/nyheter/di-avslojar-alecta-har-dumpat-amerikanska-statspapper/ (translated in my browser) Di reveals: Alecta has dumped US government bonds Pension giant Alecta has dumped most of its US government bonds. According to Di's experience, the sales are in the order of SEK 70-80 billion. Alecta confirms that it has sold "the majority of its holdings" and refers to increased risk and unpredictability in US politics.
  8. That's great and all, but nearly every business using LLMs is having a hard time getting any valuable or useful work/product out of them. You can add ads many ads as you want, but it's just not useful for what it's being sold as. I feel like you keep hand waving that pesky critical detail just so you can continue to sunshine pump for a busted business model. If they've burned $500,000,000,000+ and have yet to actually do anything economically useful (while doing an Enron to boot), on what fucking planet does it make sense to keep burning money? It's like some weird prosperity gospel preacher has genAI boosters in a thrall
  9. Andrew Callahan with channel five news with an update to their Nick Shirley interview TLDR - Shirley is a lying little pissant bitch
  10. +1 for post numbers informing how far along a page you are before the next page, but I do like the quick link button
  11. Well and also, they had blown themselves to hell and needed someone to cover for them while the Soviet Union and Warsaw Pact loomed large. NATO was a necessity to secure Europe against that threat, and has (until now) evolved to become the backbone of our international cooperation and economic intertwining. Kneecapping NATO is gonna remove alot of the reasons to keep playing nice with Americans abroad, especially if we start going even harder on the lebensraum play. Europe knows what to do when they see that shit. See: previous war of blowing themselves to hell
  12. Follow up on this: Majority of CEOs report zero payoff from AI splurge: PwC survey finds more than half of 4,500+ biz leaders see no revenue growth nor cost savingsMore than half of CEOs report seeing neither increased revenue nor decreased costs from AI, despite massive investments in the technology, according to a PwC survey of 4,454 business leaders. The findings pour more cold water on the hyperbole surrounding AI and the benefits it supposedly brings to business, although the report cautions that "clearly, we're in the early stages of the AI era." Only 12 percent reported both lower costs and higher revenue, while 56 percent saw neither benefit. Twenty-six percent saw reduced costs, but nearly as many experienced cost increases. AI adoption remains limited. Even in top use cases like demand generation (22 percent), support services (20 percent), and product development (19 percent), only a minority are deploying AI extensively.
  13. Seems like it belongs in the "death cult" thread too tbh
  14. But I was assured that trump was GREAT for business and it was just TDS to even consider that he has a history of bankruptcies and bad decision making, even before he was shittin his britches in the oval office
  15. Miller is Grima fucking Wormtongue, and trump is already a mad and decrepit king
  16. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/01/19/us/politics/cubans-florida-deportations-trump.html Cuban MAGAs, getting deported? Lulz
  17. Oh boy I can't wait to see how treasuries getting dumped in response to Greenland are going to affect rates!
  18. Captainant replied to Zavala's topic in Daily Texan
Fun historical fact, the last time the US bought an island from Denmark was St James Island - Epstein Island - in 1917. Trump wants to build an even bigger Epstein Island this go round I guess
  19. Captainant replied to Zavala's topic in Daily Texan
I feel like we need some Aggy math to get there, they're experts at counting things that didn't happen
  20. I mean.....
  21. Agentic AI just means giving access to MCP servers and means to take actions in an environment - and none of that results in more revenue for openAI, but it does mean staggeringly larger context windows being passed back and forth in a transaction. From my seat riding shotgun, most "Agentic" workloads are just harnessing an LLM with some actions it is allowed to take. And even then, it's usually not giving consistent results that meet the business need. Hell, Salesforce is going through a rejection of AgentForce internally because of their inability to make it be more consistent in its behavior. MaarthandamSalesforce regrets firing 4000 experienced staff and repl...Salesforces has entered a phase of public reckoning after senior executives publicly admitted that the company overestimated AI’s readinessModels are too stochastic still, and frankly, most use cases and chatbots DO NOT NEED an LLM bolted onto it. Sure, a chatbot can theoretically handle greater variance in customer scenarios with an LLM backing it, but holy hell the business does not like when they get committed to something they can't deliver or when key steps are omitted because the agent just decided not to.
