Texas Football 2025 - Seven Win Steve Rides Again
Ah. It's not really much of a theory. Pretty much that Mack and my parents, along with a couple of other folks I know, were all born in that window, and all share the characteristics most commonly associated with the negative stereotype of the "Boomer". Petulant, entitled, etc.. They also, while not looking like Mack at all, manage to look exactly like Mack via facial expression and mannerisms when speaking. I was simply pleased to potentially expand the limited dataset of people born in that window who all shared the same 1950s environmental factors and look/speak/act exactly like Mack Brown (minus the accent).

Is your dad 73, almost 74 years old? Because my mom and dad both have almost the exact facial/speech mannerisms of Mack and I've been developing a theory about those born in the window from August of 1951 to February of 1952 being peak boomer.

Diamonte Tucker-Dorsey, I believe. Had to look it up because I certainly don't remember him playing or doing anything.

You bring up the crux of the matter. A lot of us fondly remember a golden age of college football wherein the entire enterprise had a sense of history and decorum that gave gravitas to the proceedings. There was a generational aspect that we carry on into adulthood. That’s why it’s worth so much money, at the end of the day. I would argue that dumbing it down to the lowest common denominator and featuring a bunch of crass, flavor of the minute celebrities degrades that very institutional sense of decorum and seriousness and will contribute to the erosion of the generational aspect. I grew up in the 80s and 90s, so I would liken it to bringing Howard Stern and Andrew Dice Clay into the mix at the time. How many of us would remember watching games with our family as fondly as we do with those clowns running the show? Of course, I don’t know shit about fuck and I enjoy yelling at clouds, so take it for what it’s worth.- Texas Recruiting Notes 2026: Boulevard of Broken Bagmen

Who would have thought that someone who called themselves "Chase the Bag" from North Shore would turn out to be an overrated mercenary douchebag? Username checks out.- Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us
If you think an early season loss to someone like Ohio State will keep Texas out of the 16 team playoff, then you also think Texas is going to lose a couple more games throughout the season. A one-loss Texas that won the SEC and dropped an early season behemoth game doesn't have to worry about being on the wrong side of the bubble. Conversely, a Texas team with three losses wasn't going to win a title anyway. Scheduling big time marquee games only helps our brand, exposure, and recruiting even if we don't win them all. As you said, the system has changed, and a 16 team playoff changes the calculus of scheduling. Your concerns are more appropriate for the former 4 team system.- Cheese Enchiladas
Demanded cheese enchiladas as my Father’s Day meal. American cheese inside, cheddar on top, fresh onions. Magnifico.- Texas BBQ
As someone who recently moved into Central Texas from East Texas, this was a good read. I admit having seen the various signs for different Black's BBQs and being confused so it's nice to have that story clarified.- Texas Offseason 2025 - Archmania Is Upon Us

Judge Larry Joe Doherty of “Texas Justice” fame once performed as my band’s opening act at a wine bar in downtown Brenham. He read his cowboy poetry. Also, a man claiming to be Kevin Black, Clint Black’s brother, once joined my band for a rendition of Jumping Jack Flash at a bar called The Upper Deck in Willis. Once Jim Edmonds glared at me from the outfield in Houston when my buddy yelled “Hey Edmonds, catch these balls” right when he was trying to make a play. He dropped the ball, loaded the bases with a credited error, and one batter later Lance Berkman crushed a grand slam for the win. To this day, we believe that we won that game for the Astros. Those were my brushes with celebrity. Like Icarus, I flew too close to the sun.- Negative Recruiting Your Own School: The aggy Screenshot Megathread

Goddamnit. The University President woke up to a mugshot of his head basketball coach on the front page of ESPN. Doesn't matter after that. He said, she said, who gives a shit? That won't fly at the University of Texas, period. The individual circumstances of that individual night are immaterial. It would have happened eventually anyway given their temperaments. Beard should have dumped her when he had the chance. He didn't, so here we are.- 2025 NCAA Tournament - 2nd Round Games
