We just booked into a House in Heavenly for early March. Hopefully, they build on what they have by then. Been a while for us, but I'm glad we'll get to go this year.

  4. If you've already got easy off, I'd hit it again (if there's anything left to remove). Vinegar works, but it's time consuming and requires ventilation when you're boiling it. But if it's just a little left, a good soak is probably a good next step.
  5. I won't mess with the self-clean function on an oven anymore. I've fried too many circuit boards. For basic stripping, short of easy off in a garbage bag, you can boil vinegar in the pan. It takes a while and really stinks up the kitchen, but it will strip it down.

I think you can markedly improve things even in the $100 stylus range. Whatever cartridge shell you've got from 1980 is likely to be in fine shape and worth keeping.

Not as much as figuring out how to adjust the vertical-tracking alignment. ;)
  8. Those look nice, and unlike some sets, every piece is something you want. I'd say all that's missing is a good saute pan. Let us know how they do.
  9. The shape of that there Telecaster seems strange.
  10. I bought a floor model American Vintage 64 Telecaster at a huge discount (36%). It has some nicks and scuffs on the body that some people probably would pay extra for. Check their current return policy, which is pretty easy if you have it shipped to your local guitar center. Open it in the store and document everything right there because you can push for a discount for undisclosed issues. You definitely want to figure out which store it's selling from and call them. That's how you get the discounts. I kept trying to order one online and it kept coming up unavailable. So I called that store, and the guy helped me locate one (a floor model) at another Guitar Center. He had the guy there go look at it and assess its condition and discounted it accordingly. So basically, if you call the location, assess condition at your GC, and are satisfied with the return window, it's good. Yes, it came with the wrong pickup selector switch plastic piece, but I remedied that without much effort. At least they bothered to replace it when someone stole the original. /my name is DCBC, and I have three telecasters.
  11. So the previous owner was a retárd (said with Galifianakis affect)?

This shit can be so picky. Best advice is to take notes on what sounds good and don't make big changes. I futzed with mine forever just to get it to stop jumping (vertical tracking angle adjustment fixed it). From there, it was adjustments to make it sound good in the room. Then, this stylus or that one. I'm good now. I don't do much more than brush the records and clean the stylus with a drop on a magic eraser pad from time to time.
  13. You should buy my phase shifter first before you do something major like that.
  14. Yes, there will be tartar sauce.
  15. What time?
  16. As of today, my retirement or I get fired even though my retirement is vested plan is to start a food truck called, Luanne. I will borrow heavily from the popular combos that follow and only serve Liver & Onions on Saturdays. I will break even and will be occupied. timewise.
  17. Thank you. You are a gentleman and a scholar.
  18. As of this afternoon, every YouTube link I come across is blacked out and I have to click through to Youtube to watch the video.
  19. Not to be too pedantic, but I believe it's not about the shoes being light, but rather his weigh relative to the shows. You know what, never mind. I still chortled. Well played.
  20. For most, it's probably mac & cheese or a roll. I'm a fried fish guy myself.
