Wow. That's the tiniest middle finger I've ever seen.
  2. Interesting. My limited familiarity with Marshall is evident. The only 4x12 I ever had was an early 70s Sunn, which was 4 ohm, which I used with my Bassman 100.
  3. I bet it does. But what I love about the Champ is the likelihood of a impedance matchup between the amp and the speaker (of course, a 4x12 isn't necessarily 4 ohms). Be careful running that 8 ohm Deluxe into a lower impedance cabinet. Low to high mismatch is far safer.

No worries. You encouraged me to read up on it. I knew there was a period where Jerry was really dissatisfied with Bobby's ability to improve early on. Reading about it, I really like the recollection that Bobby, while taking the time to really focus on his playing, just kept showing up, and the Dead being the Dead, nobody did anything to dissuade him. Phil probably made some faces, but they just kept playing.

I think he missed some Mickey and the Hartbeats shows, but the accounts I read about the firing were that he just kept showing up and playing the Dead shows. And its not like Jerry was going to confront him. But there are some missing tapes. So who knows. It's just a funny quip. The truth might only serve to make it less funny.
  6. I've said it before, and I'll say it again. Few things sounds as good as a Champ run through a half stack. Leo knew when he put a 4 ohm transformer tap on that little amp.

Some Guy: Tell me you're a deadhead without telling me you're a deadhead. Bobby: I've been to every show.

They're definitely including the tapers in that assessment.

I saw Bobby referred to today as the "most recorded" musician in history. I don't know that that's true, but it's one of those things that sounds like it very well may be true.

The only time I saw Bobby live was with Phish at Shoreline in 2000. He played El Paso and West L.A. Fadeaway with them. Then, they played Chalkdust, and Bobby definitely was having trouble keeping up, and he may have been blended into the mix a bit. But it was all good.

Well I know what tonight's playlist is going to look like. My neighbors better enjoy it

Oh, shit. This one hurts. RIP in the shortest shorts and Izod shirts, Bobby
  14. Nice looking pies. Do you happen to have a link to that Baker's Board? I'm in the market for one.

And their recipes on their website are as good as anything I have found.

Alternatively, as my old east Texas buddy once told me when I was stressing about my beer fermentation particularities, "Man, they used to make this shit in Egypt. They got sand everywhere. It'll be fine." He didn't know shit, but he wasn't wrong.

  18. Good or Oregon is about right.
  19. Man, if Oregon had caught that swatted pass for a pick-sic, hell yeah!
