If I was looking for an early 2000’s small size truck for a cheap fishing beater, what options were available in a true 4 seater (crew/double cab) other than the Taco?

Does it look lowered because of the air suspension? Maybe because of the large wheel option.

I think we need to seriously consider trading some of our embarrassment of riches at DE (assuming we feel very good that JJ comes back 90-100% on time) for some OL help/pick

I love the lumens on my streamlight, but holy fuck does it drain the batteries quickly on “blast” mode. Might try and find another good option.

Holy shit. Leave it to the left wing erudite to single out this dumbass teacher as the beacon of proof that teachers are inherently untrustworthy and neglectful. One fucking person. Who makes the case more airtight because he happened to be a teacher at SD. Really? I’m not even advocating for arming teachers, but I can clearly this dude is not one fit for carry and is in no way representative of the many who could.

The Boat Fanatic Thread
Just bought my first boat today. Yeah, it’s an old man party barge tritoon. So I’m almost embarrassed to say it is a “boat”. But it floats. Bought my lake house a year ago in April and felt it wholly inappropriate to not own a boat. On a lake. And I wanted something that would accommodate a dozen folks, be reasonably comfortable at that number, and provide a “home base” for swimming and mooring my jet skis. Went with a Sweetwater 22 footer with the 27” upgraded tritoon package (and whopping 45 gallon capacity) for added stability. And packaged it with a 150 hp ETEC and ski setup for some added fun and versatility. Hope I don’t regret it. Was leaning a wakesurfer/ski setup Malibu. But thought this was more practical for what it will be used for majority of the time. Will post pics once I take delivery. Boat house is old, far too small (single slip) and in serious disrepair, so building a new one now. Won’t be able to get it out and in the water until that is finished. So i guess i put the boat before the boathouse, or something like that. Still excited. For now.

Supposed to be next year. And they said that last year. They keep selling. They keep punting. My bet, it’s a 2020 model release spring next year.

The Gun Owner’s thread
Well, while I am an unapologetic Benelli homer, I just purchased my first turkey gun in the Remington 870 express. $389 on sale at Carter’s. At that price, I need it to shoot maybe two to three times a year. And if i get 7-9 years out of it, that’s $15 a bird. Mossberg sights were not good at that price point. Do not like.

Surly Dad Thread
I’m blessed to have two wonderful daughters (12 and 10) that have great dispositions and bleeding hearts. They also took to dance very young and I was honored to watch them perform halftime for the Rockets this week. Now I type this from my dock as me and my oldest fish on daddy daughter lake excursion for her birthday. Rain be damned! daughters freaking rock

Not trying to quibble, but that simply isn’t the way the TSS package comes stock. It’s a few largely cosmetic bullshit items that most people replace or remove anyway. You are essentially paying for those wheels and tires. Unless you opted for the TRD off-road package. Not to be confused with the TRD PRO model, you can add that “enhanced” package or the TSS package. So your skid plate was almost certainly dealer installed if you have one. Summary: TSS - Truck Sport Series Off-Road Special Edition 20" Milled Matte Black Wheels and All-Terrain Tire Upgrade (replaces factory wheels and tires), 5" Black Oval Step Tube, Black Exhaust Tip, All-weather liners, TSS Off-Road Bed Decal, Matte Black badge overlays TRD OFF-ROAD PACKAGE Upgrades standard wheels to 18-in. split 5-spoke TRD Off-Road Package alloy wheels with black accents and MichelinLTX A/T2 P275/65R18 tires. Includes trail-tuned Bilstein® shockabsorbers, rear-side privacy glass, engine skid plate, fuel tank skid plate, front tow hooks on 4x2, and bedside TRD Off-Road decal

Pretty different other than suspension. Skid plates. Dual exhaust. Different grille. Interior very different (leather). TRD exclusive shifter and bits. It’s not just suspension, albeit that’s a HUGE difference. TSS is strictly an “appearance” package.
-
Truck Nuts
Yeah. However, that pic is of a TRD PRO anyway. They just elected to paint the indented TRD PRO on the box in the style of the TSS.
