  1. Not sure how to feel about this. Easily my most hated Longhorn this year with how consistently he would do the dumbest fucking thing possible at any given moment. Then he looked kind of shockingly good in coverage later in the year though and certainly didn't hesitate to lay people out (though that Michigan hit people keep referencing was 100% a targeting that should have gotten his ass ejected).
  2. You've said variations of this like ten times now. To be clear there absolutely have been some badass OL in the portal. We are responsible for fishing a few of them into it in the first place as you keep asking for. The Michigan duo ended up taking far less money to stay at Michigan. It happens. Guarnera is one of the best guards in the country who will be even better if he actually plays his natural position (Center). Sprague is a well above average RT. Then you have guys like Brenner the Wisconsin OG still floating around out there who is another All-Conference caliber player. These guys are of the caliber of a Biles or Raleek Brown. We also tried really damn hard to get Patrick Kutas, the elite Ole Miss guard, to enter the portal as well (allegedly). You can bitch about our whiffing on these targets if you want, fair enough I guess, but there is zero validity to the "no good OL have been available" or "we should tamper good players in" argument. There are and we have. Just hasn't gone our way yet.
  3. Adding Townsend would make sense if the plan is to also add a better quality guard and then have some combination of Townsend, Baker, Brooks, etc. filling out the other two spots (G/RT). I'm still optimistic about where we end up.
  4. Townsend isn't very good. Would be a downgrade from what we had this year at guard. Maybe we are at the point that scraping the barrel is necessary but even the most delusional of sunshine pumpers needs to understand that his joining the OL in a starting role is not a positive. Even if we do land him or some other LG we are still going to need a backup center as well I'd think (due to Cruz leaving). It is just Roberston and the incoming freshman unless someone else is going to change position.
  5. Bama friend just sent me this. Dude is having himself one hell of a week.
  6. Moore's leaving was addition by subtraction. Mediocre player who had established his ceiling and it simply wasn't very high. He was going to go from being a feature target in our offense to being somewhat deep on the bench ideally which made no sense for him, not even considering the money, so I never begrudged his leaving. I view his departure in the same way I did Lefau. Not a bad player by any means but someone we shouldn't have had much trouble upgrading from in the portal.
  7. Doubt that means anything. They wanted to add Coleman even when Horton was still on board. Losing him means they probably add two WRs even if Coleman lands elsewhere.
  8. Yeah it just doesn't make sense for Uluave to go somewhere he may not even start. He is also an All-Conference caliber player. I think Nahlin's point was more that the money would be there if he for some reason wanted to.
  9. IT saying that Texas will continue pursuing other top LB options including Uluave. I find it extremely unlikely we would actually pay top dollar for a second ILB this cycle but Nahlin is saying as much /shrug
  10. Yep. Obviously there is some crossover between who can play WILL and who can play MIKE but we are shallow at both spots. Really need another body even if its just like that FCS kid we brought in a few years ago to ride the bench. That group is painfully shallow.
  11. He generally has two inside backers on the field at once. Smith/Atkinson will play mostly in space and drop into coverage quite a bit. Biles will be an attacker who frequently moves up to the line. We could definitely use another MIKE for depth behind Biles imo but it isn't a dire need.
  12. Uluave is one of the best ILB in the country. I don't think there is a chance in hell of him coming here after we landed Biles. He is way too good not to be starting somewhere and he and Biles play the same spot. We definitely need to still get a backup caliber ILB though even with Biles and Cryer joining.
  13. Bama site saying that Coleman may stay and go to their game vs Texas tonight. That poor kid deserves every penny of the ~3 million he is chasing if he has to endure Texas basketball during two different visits.
  14. Ndukwe was great last year but missed almost entire season. I believe Houston has been pursuing tackle alternatives in the portal which suggests they at least are not the most bullish on him returning to a high level in 2026. Or maybe they just knew he was always planning on leaving? Definitely some red flags with that one but a very interesting name to watch.
  15. Weird situation continues as there has still not been any kind of announcement about Gideon's departure.
  16. A special teams only type guy for the most part iirc.
  17. IT saying that after checking with their sources Texas does want both players. This isn't a leverage ploy nor is it in response to something falling through with Brown. They have not yet updated with any kind of a response to Bama's "this would cause Brown to potentially leave" claim. Doesn't sound like they had managed to get in contact with that side yet.
  18. The Ole Miss guard that some have suggested we were planning to pursue.
  19. So maybe we don't try to steal any of these Oregon OL players...
  20. I admit I was rather drunk by the end of our bowl game but wasn't Barnes mostly playing behind an emergency safety convert JJR for the game? That doesn't exactly speak well of his immediate upside for 2026. Not that I wanted to see him leave or anything but still.
  21. Oh I ain't blaming him and I'd be doing the same thing if I were his agent as well.
  22. This obnoxious twat Coleman is going to keep dragging things out until he is the only viable difference making WR left on the market. I'd bet he tries to take it all the way to start of the dead period (yes the portal idiotically has one in a few days).
