I voted other specifically to choose picanha. That's become our tailgate beef o' choice. A little coarse salt and some pepper and onto the grill. Eat it with molho da campanha (Brazilian "salsa" but with vinegar) and some farofa to soak up the juices. Damn. Muito bom!
Sitting here watching this mess... at least prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is decent. The Dragons' offense is simply a beating to watch. They are doing a decent job of explaining the rule differences, etc. Would be more fun if the game had any offense whatsoever.
But then I realize that Johnny Manziel wasn't good enough for this league, and I laugh.
Got damn. You're all overthinking the hell out of this. The smartest thing here is to leave the Big XII and Pac-12 conferences alone (Big XII to add two teams if desired) and form a media partnership with guaranteed cross-conference OOC games. Football only - there is no reason to mess with any other sport. UW cross-country doesn't need to travel to Lubbock nor does Texas VB need to travel to Corvallis.
All this stuff about "move UA and CU to the Big XII" ignores the fact that the two most successful football programs both financially and in terms of fan support outside of LA are UW and UO.
Stop overthinking this. Keep the regional conferences and work together. Take that to Disney or Apple or Amazon and see what they throw at it.
Should indeed be low scoring but I expect the Seahawks' O line to be shredded by the Packers' D. Russell will be running for his life; fortunately (I guess) he's gotten used to that.
Would love to see a rubber match with SF next weekend but I think it'll be the Packers going to Santa Clara.
I've heard from Coug friends that Mrs Grinch absolutely hated Pullman and didn't hide it much - have no idea if that's the case but if so might make that a difficult pull.
Avalos is solid.
He seemed worn down after the Apple Cup. He's an offensive-minded guy and that side of the ball seriously underperformed this past season. Perhaps he just didn't want to deal with the changes he'd need to make (they underwhelmed last season as well and he said they'd be fixing it - to no avail).
I assume Coach Kwiatkowski will move back to DC but no idea what they will do on O. At least as important is can Lake keep this class together? We aren't Texas by a long shot but this is the best class we've perhaps ever had.
I'll just say that we are shocked. Stupid texts won't stop coming in (UW season ticket holder).
Petersen's the kind of guy you actually run into at the grocery store (we don't have HEBs, so they're open). No airs at all, just down to earth and a straight shooter. May be a bit too loyal at times but is loved here, and gets along extremely well with the AD and university president.
I hope this is not due to health issues with him or his family.
1940? Well, yeah - didn't they go undefeated against Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, Belgium, and France? Put it on the wall!
Or maybe that was somebody else. I can't recall.
I've been to each one of Leach's Apple Cups. It's mindbottling to me that he literally is incapable of changing anything. This was the worst Petersen-coached UW team he's faced - inept offense, very young but talented defense - and yet the "rush 3, drop 8" key to beating him worked yet again.
Rick Neuheisel mentioned on his Seattle radio appearance this week that he never changes - at Tceh he had 8 basic plays and he does the same thing at WSU.
I could see him being a decent fit at Arkansas for awhile but I'd be fine with him staying at WSU - he won't change enough to beat the Huskies and he gives the Ducks fits. Win-win.
Every damn season Chris Petersen has an unexplainable loss. Clearly that was Stanford this year.
Congrats, Sbbruin! You've suffered through this whole season and deserve to enjoy the breaking of the streak in a most improbable year to do it.
