I have a 6s and after the latest update my touch screen is borked. Sometimes it wont react to my touch at all and other times it will make unwanted selections when my finger is near the glass. Is this common? My screen was replaced last year with a non-apple replacement.
I used to stay at the Tremont all the time. Had a regular room on the 4th floor at the end of the hall. Would stash a bottle of Weller on top of the armoire and it would be waiting for me the next trip. Nice and quiet. Cool hotel. The limo at the Galvez will pick you up and take you back and forth if you want some pool time. Drank some tequila with Kinky Friedman while we watched a Rangers game at the big ass bar in the Tremont lounge. Then head over to the Pearl for a dozen shucked and some shrimp diablo. I love Galveston.
I bought my wife's engagement ring through USAA's diamond buying services. Pricing strictly related to 4c's above. The only requirement that I had was that it needed to be bigger than her sisters' rings. Home-run. My wife eventually took the rock to a favorite jeweler in Austin and had it remounted in a custom setting.
Got mine replaced around 2010 and it rumbles and knocks like a got damn freight train. Service tech said he wouldn't flush it because of the risk of damaging things down stream. You would think that the thing was on its last leg but it keeps on rocking. I'm not sure what the failure point will be to end its life but I'm ready to shoot it myself.
Important to note that this is probably stackable on items already being discounted or on sale. So you might be able to put together a screaming deal. (Insert mom insult here)
I bet this goes on all the time with caregivers for the elderly. Recently I saw some antique firearms being sold by a lady on Nextdoor. I did a little snooping and saw that she was a caregiver at one of the local assisted living homes here in Austin.
These caregivers do a terribly important job for little pay, but unfortunately there are bad apples.
We looked at SimpliSafe and Abode. We went with Abode because it didn't require monitoring. If you wanted monitoring, you could subscribe short term (while on vacation). Works great. Love it. The thing I like about it is that is has proximity sensing that detects when both the wife and I have left the property and will turn itself on or off accordingly. Works with smart phone. It has worked flawlessly. $400 or so.
