  1. Grill pic instead, imo.
  2. North Austin Guitar Center has a v2 Marshall Class5 for $300.

You posted that on Surly. We just assume sarcasm until proven otherwise.
  4. Looks like the suit he died in.
  5. Liucci answers all Texas questions with an aggy reaffirming, it's-great-to-be-us flavor. Pubes is that lever that activates sex stimulation centers in their aggy brains instead of the lever that releases food. They ask him a Texas question, they get a little tickle in their micro-penii. They would happily starve.
  6. The rollercoaster works without Liucci, but the rollercoaster REALLY works with him.

A few years ago I saw a crowd of people around someone at a terminal bar in Dallas and didn't think too much about it. As I waited in line to board my flight back to Austin, many from that crowd started walking my way, then past me, and after a quick check-in boarded the plane. As the crowd walked past, I could see that it was Robert Plant at the center. When I boarded the plane, it was a scene straight out of the 60s - many of the stewardesses (it was a scene out of the 60s, so "stewardesses!") were crowded around him in the front row, asking him questions and being fans. It was cool to see that reaction still, in HIS 60s. Turns out he was on his way to SXSW.
  8. Clapton's bubblegum blues worked better in that setting than I would've guessed.
  9. I feel saved.
  10. If you've never heard recordings of the Earl and Willie's jams, be thankful for just seeing the photo. Then again, Earl's vocals are so bad they become endearing. But that Les Paul tho.
  11. @TexasEd It's a Blues Deluxe, which is great when it's allowed to cook. A very different animal from any other amp in the collection. Not really "Fender clean" anywhere on the dial and gets raunchy quick. The new Blues Jr IV (it's a proper upgraded tonal circuit over the III) is probably what you're looking for. But a deal on a used III would do you well, too. And the III is a bona fide, proven gigging champ that is just as at home at home.
  12. Kingfish was at Antone's tonight (dammit). Did anyone go?

  14. You crushed it.
  15. We've been trending to have another unanimous GOAT.
  16. For so much of my life, Hendrix was considered, almost unanimously, the GOAT. It doesn't feel like it's still that way.

This is the go-to when nothing else is on. Just set it and let it roll.

The box doesn't fit into a Kallax unit. What kind of twisted sociopath designs an LP box that doesn't fit into a Kallax?!?!
  19. That's about exactly how I think of him - a conduit. And it doesn't matter the gear or the talent, you can't duplicate him. The best have tried, none have succeeded.
  20. Recently found out that his fro was a wig. I was devastated.
  21. Listen to Family Style and tell me Stevie wasn't deferring to his older brother the entire time. Dude was a treasure of a man.
  22. Stevie did less pretty damn well too. Especially when he was dueting with guitar's elder statesmen, like Albert King, or when he felt he wasn't the feature, like in ensemble jams. Dude would throttle way back. Classiest guy you'll ever come across. But to you greater point, I never felt like Stevie's music was notey or excessive, especially his later work like In Step. That stuff was just straight lean meat, not an ounce of fat. (I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, but I've been hitting the bar a bit and that makes my very opinion.)
  23. No kidding.
  24. I think you and Stevie are the only two people with that opinion, and Stevie is RIP.
