Fred definitely came in 4th place in that group
  2. Sure does And for those who remember it from a few years ago - still haven't got the trigger fixed yet
  3. I have a cheap Maratec on my Sub. It is essentially a NATO without all the extra stuff
  4. I have programmed a second fob for three different cars. Yep - it's a racket with dealers. For the cars I found, that if you have at least one working remote, you can do it. Instruction for both cars were on the web. It definitely involved a lot of goofy crap (turn key three times, lock/unlock doors three times etc) to get into programming mode. In the end the on line instruction saved a bunch
  5. Probably starting a flame war but does anyone use the chronograph function on Daytonas or other chronos? Every vendor seems to have a model but wondering if anyone uses it. On the other hand I haven't used the rotating bezel on my Sub very much either
  6. They said the opposite to me. Mine will auto renew at list price so I get to call next year. I am just glad to get 12 months and both cars on same bill. used to have to call every six months for 2 cars = 4 calls per year
  7. Just renewed this week. 2 cars with platinum for about 225 for both for one year
  8. Can you play thru your own foursome?
  9. I think we need a side thread on how to cheat at golf
  10. On my Sub it was time when it totally stopped running.
  11. Th judges would have accepted vaseline also. Players used it for years to cut down the spin and make the ball avoid hooks or slices

This. Steinman is very under rated.

I was a poor grad student and had to use the cheap method - piece of rubber hose in the ear and listening. SU (Seldom Understood) carb's were a piece of work. The manual was no help - it said "turn the adjusting nut until it sounds right". The problem was 3 dimensional. Had to get it sounding right on 2 devices and get the rpm's correct. Getting 2 of the 3 was easy.

My favorite story was driving down I-59 to Tuscaloosa while in college. About midnight where the mercedes plant is now. Dark as it could be and suddenly the headlights turn off and the wipers start working. I was looking around for the UFO. Pulled into the rest stop and everything came back on and didn't happen again.

Some Lucas humor. Those who haven't had a Lucas based car probably wonder why we bash them so much https://www.mez.co.uk/lucas.html

Did not know this until recently. The wonderful Amphicar (both car and boat) used Lucas. Lucas and water together - what could go wrong? At least on land you can coast to the side of the road

Company motto - be home before dark Lucas disliked my MGA in college and tried to light it on fire by shorting the starter switch and melting a bunch of wires nearby. Luckily the MGA was so simple (only 2 fuses) that the fire repair only took 2-3 hours and part of that was getting to the store to but a roll of new wire...

Well the Tiger name on the back fooled me...

Why is there a Triumph emblem in the engine compartment? Sunbeam was a different company.
  20. Yes but years ago so not much help. However I learned to ski at Ogden and it was great - almost no crowds during the week. You can also fly into Ogen and drive down to SLC. It's not that far
  21. Just shortening clubs without adjusting the lie angle isn't going to help much.
  22. See if Barbara Puett is still teaching at Barton. She has taught for like 50 years and would be an excellent hour or two to figure htis out.
  23. and if they really like their "12th Man" coming out of the stands than they aren't going to like that Auburn literally did that in 1990. Redshirt freshman RB was told he was not going to play in opener and he was sitting in the stands when they paged him at halftime. He suited up and had several carries in second half. https://www.sun-sentinel.com/news/fl-xpm-1990-09-12-9002130697-story.html
  24. John posted it on the other forum - his reply Recipe - you pay me the money and I give you the squash.....
