  1. Yeah, like I said above, on second thought I understood what you were saying. I initially forgot about the dribbler to 3B, and I agree that if the bases had been loaded at the time a run would have scored on that play and the other runners would have advanced such that there would have been a runner on 3rd when Fermin hit his fly ball. But, like I also said above, the score should have been 4-0 heading into that inning, not 3-0. It all evened out in the end, IMO.
  2. The Cubs were up 2 at the time, so it wouldn't have tied the game. And Chicago got screwed out of a run on the call on the Hoerner slide at the plate. Cubs should have been leading 4-0 going into the 9th. EDIT: On 2nd thought, I guess you're saying that the dribbler to 3rd would have scored one run and then the fly to center would have scored the tying run, so never mind my first comment. But my second sentence still stands.
  3. Whew . . .
  4. Dammit, Keller.
  5. Gift called third strike call there. That's a bad call.
  6. Bullshit -- Hoerner was safe. It was close, but he was safe.
  7. So Switzerland is nice.
  8. Seen recently in a line at the Zurich airport. So which one of you was shipping his bicycle back home?
  9. Why start having qualms now?
  10. Another good game. Suzuki has been on fire the last several games.
  11. Stupidity by Klan's QB
  12. Whoever is doing color commentary for the AZ-ISU game is a moron. KOR was obviously down before fumbling on that opening kickoff.
  13. And with ASU's kicker, the FG would not be guaranteed.
  14. What a horrible call.
  15. Guess I can't read a schedule. *L*
  16. Reading all the pants-pissing in the first part of this thread was entertaining. Next week will be a lot more difficult. Fingers crossed that Arch can build on this momentum.
  17. Wrote "I Fought The Law" and the theme song for the Mary Tyler Moore Show.
  18. Some of my faves have already been mentioned (Gimme Shelter, Honky Tonk Women, Brown Sugar, Street Fighting Man, Start Me Up), but I will also throw in Time Waits For No One, I Am Waiting, Waiting On A Friend, and Tumbling Dice. Gun to head, I'd probably pick Gimme Shelter.
  19. I named my three faves, but there are several of his movies I will watch anytime they're on, including River Runs, Sneakers, All the President's Men, Old Man & the Gun, 3 Days of the Condor, Tell Them Willie Boy is Here, Brubaker, and this one just to name some of them.
  20. So many great roles. And a huge supporter of independent film. Jeremiah Johnson is my favorite of his movies, but Butch/Sundance and The Sting are right up there, too. He also wrote a book for National Geographic that I really enjoy -- The Outlaw Trail. RIP, Mr. Redford
  21. I like the guy who thinks they'll win cuz uniforms.
