  1. An offensive genius should be able to win this game, yes?

Had to look it up and you're correct. Players are eligible to take a redshirt if the coach leaves, but they don't get an extra one if they've already used theirs.

QB @ UNLV did it last year. He's currently running 2nd string at James Madison. Our best defensive player did this last year and it royally fucked us. Ben Bell decided the week of the Sam Houston game that he was going to redshirt in his 5th year so that he could get a big NIL payday via the portal in 2025. He went to VA Tech and has started all 4 games so far. The kicker w/ him is because his coach got fired, he could shut it down again, portal again for another NIL payday, and play a 7th year.
  4. It's in the numbers. I haven't run them in a couple of years, but in when I last did it in 2020: 39 G5 HC had been poached by P5 programs in the previous 10 years. 82% of those had a 10 win season within their 1st 5 years (a couple had a previous 10 W season at another G5). The other 18% had been a coordinator at that P5, a coordinator at a Top 5 P5, had a relationship w/ a bigtime donor, or resurrected Temple. From 2016-2020, the numbers were even more stark: 14/17 G5 -> P5 hires had a 10 win season in their 1st 5 years, 10 of those in the 1st 4 years. Traylor and Morris are much more likely to get the gig than Kinne. Traylor has much more experience in P4, has 5+ years as HC w/ proven results: 2 Conf Titles; 12, 11, 9 win seasons; 6 bowl games. UTSA has shit NIL and a G5 coach that doesn't move up after winning 10 games is more likely to be fired than find long term success at that G5 (couldn't see that there, but just saying). Pat Hill types are rare. Morris has 5+ years HC experience, more P5 experience, was absolutely the UIW architect, and most importantly, can probably bring his QB with him. Same recruiting area. Also, UNT and Denton are a dump in tornado alley. He's getting paid peanuts @ $1.3M. Kinne was an early adopter of the portal, and it's worked well for us, but on a razor's edge. Only 3 years of HC experience. 4-6 vs 0.500+ teams, 2-0 in bowl games, does have a P4 W. My biggest complaint: losses to really shitty teams last year kept us from that 10 win mark. I personally think he's waiting for Baylor.
  5. He hasn't won 10 games and has zero connection to Weinberg. There is next to no chance he's getting poached. He wasn't a better coach when they played last year.

Was in Tempe for the TXST @ ASU game, and can't express how good the ASU helmets look in person. Just really badass - gold/maroon prismatic fade that switches as the angle changes.
  8. UIW is ass. Haven't had a winning season since 2009. If the ASU coach doesn't sit their starters and let the backups play, it's a damn coaching mistake.
  9. Our stud is our RS as well: Sam Wunsch out of Cedar Park. B2B All Conf 1st Team and should be in the running for POY this season, but we'll see how that goes w/ us leaving the conference. We ride her pretty hard - last night's stat line: 60 swings, 21 kills, 7 blocks, 13 digs and an ace. She's full of piss and vinegar - team's emotional leader as well.
  10. Never in a million years did I think we'd be airing football commercials. From the comments, it has been airing in SATX for a while now.
  11. Actually pretty happy w/ a massive moral victory here. We have started off terribly this season, and played as poorly last weekend as I've seen in the past 7-8 years. Little lineup tweak, our stud returning to form, some poor play from ASU, and a hell of a lot of fight. Last week I wasn't sure if we could compete for another Sun Belt title on our way out, and now I might be back to feeling cocky about our chances for another NCAA berth. Gave them everything we had for those 1st 3 sets:
  12. Haven't heard about any circumcisions just yet, but there's still time.

Same unis as last week @ UTSA for the road trip to Arizona State, just a different helmet decal. Haven't seen the Sun Devils' uniform reveal just yet, but I believe they are going full maroon. Should be a good uniform matchup.

UTSA's highest attended games: 56,743 Inaugural game 2011 49,342 TXST 2023 45,788 TXST 2025 42,071 Baylor 41,412 CUSA CCG 41,148 CUSA CCG 40,977 Oklahoma State 39,032 TXST 2012 Not going to lie - very surprised by Traylor today. Why he didn't run, run, run and run some more is a mystery. 34 runs for 278 vs 23/43 for 219.
  15. Massive W for GJK. Bit of a coming out party for Brad Jackson - he may not be the most polished passer, but that kid is a fucking winner. Crazy that the D won the game in the end w/ a couple of massive stops in the 4th.

  19. Pretty solid once everyone got into the stadium, but the blowout and game taking forever led to it being pretty sparse by the 4th. Hell, I left at the start of the 4th too. 21,082 was the official count. Thought the dark side was kinda weak and pretty surprised by that. Thought the alumni would show better given we just set a season ticket record and a 3 day weekend, but maybe folks were getting their last vacation in?
  20. Not sure why outlets are reporting it today. He was on the team last week. Since May, apparently:
