Star Trek Discovery: Season 2 - It Got Good. Real Good. (Ep 1 inside)
In retrospect, even though it was a good season, nothing topped the end of the first episode. True believers.

Babylon 5 Remastered now available on HBO Max - Rimbo Most Excited
The special effects were not so great in retrospect, but very serviceable for the time. The first four seasons, at least, were quite good space opera, in the mode of Dune.

The Expanse (Amazon Prime)
I remember the book version of this season as more exciting.

Abolish the Fax
My fax number, (needed for dealing with the IRS), used to belong to a pharmacy. Every time I got a fax from a doctor's office, I would call them to let them know about their mistake. If they were rude or I couldn't reach them, I'd report them for the HIPAA violation. DHS would follow up with a letter listing the penalty, which was usually remedial education.

Ex-Middle School Teacher Accused of Raping Boy After Mom Found Her Nude Photos on His Phone
Knew one guy who was 17 in 8th grade before they promoted him.

Sleep study
I don't sleep without my CPAP. When I was a frequent traveler, (and before they had small, convenient battery-powered CPAPs or accessible power outlets on airplanes), I would stay up through red eye flights even if it meant a day longer than 30 hours. Being dependent on a machine sucks. But the sleep is so much better.

The Expanse (Amazon Prime)
Loved the opening with Amos and Peaches pissing in the field. A little too much Naomi and not enough everyone else. I guess they want to show that she really struggled to get her message out.

Marvel's WandaVision on Disney+
That's kinda the point, not getting it. Vision is back, alive and living with Wanda in a black & white, 1950s sitcom. Both are lacking crucial memories of how they got there. There's more going on than a mere sitcom. Vision's behavior is atypical. It's a mystery with a ridiculous backdrop. A great job at making us, the audience, feel cognitive dissonance.

The Expanse (Amazon Prime)
I read the books years ago, so I can't comment openly. From the show, I have no idea where the protomolecule is. Book spoiler below:

Maybe they're in the "Facebook Friends I want to bang" thread?

DNA kits revealing some secrets.....
This is true. I've had to message several attractive women while trying to track down my Tío Louis or find information on my Costa Rican heritage. (That they're attractive is a coincidence.)

DNA kits revealing some secrets.....
If your mom or dad has done AncestryDNA, it will say "Father's side" or "Mother's side" next to the names of relatives of the parent who has also taken the test. Does Ancestry list any relatives, let's say grandparents to uncles/aunts to second cousins, whose name you should know, but you don't? You can try uploading your data to GEDMatch or also doing 23andme to see if you can get more info (without asking mom or dad what really happened).

DNA kits revealing some secrets.....
That's pretty much in the middle of the range for a full sibling, so it's possible that she is a full sibling your mom put up for adoption while your dad was out of country. Or one or both of your parents isn't actually related to you.

Star Trek Discovery: Season 2 - It Got Good. Real Good. (Ep 1 inside)
It was a red herring. Great season finale.

The Watch (Discworld based TV Show) - BBC America
Really enjoyed most of the Discworld series, until it got so utterly formulaic at the end. This looks promising, even though collapsing the entirety of the Watch books into a television series will grate on me as a book fan. Discworld deserves an MCU.

Call Me Kat
After watching the trailer, I knew my wife would want to watch this show. We did. Neither of us could believe how much it sucked.

Star Trek Discovery: Season 2 - It Got Good. Real Good. (Ep 1 inside)
It's good, but the deus ex machina was so blatant that it makes me wonder if it's a red herring.

The Mandalorian (Star Wars live action show)
That already happened. I feel like it happened between CW and Rebels, just based on her character change and the white light sabers, but, on screen, I can point only to Ezra manipulating time to save her from dying at the end of Twilight of the Apprentice.

Star Trek Discovery: Season 2 - It Got Good. Real Good. (Ep 1 inside)
These last two episodes were underwhelming. No need for a two-parter because it was obvious how it would go even if the ending was in doubt.

The Mandalorian (Star Wars live action show)
While sublight may become important later on, it looks like the New Republic pilots having a role in the final ep would be a more likely plot point. I've moved from looking for a Seven Samurai episode to a Tombstone "And hell is coming with me" showdown involving the Republic sweeping in to battle the Imperials.

Obscure movies from your youth
Except for the Black Hole, it's hard to imagine calling any Disney movie obscure. But time obscures a great many things. I was born in 1979 and I'm not a huge movie buff. How many non-obscure movies from the 1970s can I name? Star Wars, Jaws, the Godfather I & II, Apocalypse Now, Blazing Saddles, China Town, Taxi Driver, Network, um... and then a bunch of movies that might have been in the late '60s, the '70s, or the early '80s. Then, after thinking about it, I might remember Dirty Harry, Death Wish, Shaft, the Poseidon Adventure, Kramer vs. Kramer, and others along those lines. When we say "obscure", do we mean stuff like Werner Herzog's student documentary on the Frilly Lizard Monkeys of Suburban Buenos Aires or movies that time forgot?

The Mandalorian (Star Wars live action show)
Part of it is that, post-eps VII-IX, SW fans have battered spouse syndrome. Another part is that it is a great space western, like ST:TOS and Firefly. Only the final part involves the hardcore SW fans and the incredible level of fan service from the show.

UFOs spotted off Irish coast
The problem with ET explanations for anything is that, at this point, it will come off as an Ozymandias-style plot. (Like in the Watchmen movie, graphic novel, or tv show.)
