You are missing my point. It’s obvious those other qualities are his strengths, but it’s funny how folks talk.

A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms HBO Max
Funny seeing folks talking shit about Dunc’s ability to fight. Homeboy got taught by mid knight with a big cock. Furthermore, I’m sure everyone in this thread would be Errol fucking Flynn after taking a lance to the abdomen and several blows to the dome with a mace.

Jeffrey Epstein needs his own thread
I Was scrolling through threads and someone posted a redacted photo that even with the black bars was so completely fucked up I don’t even want to to describe it, let alone link it. And I was not about to go verify if it was actually in the files. I wish I hadn’t seen that. Goddamn it, when are we actually going to do something about this shit?? Fuck man. Just fuck.

Best Pocket Knife?
Im thinking about picking up this larger version of the Vosteed Marten (I posted my fat carbon version above). Not sure why. Maybe because I don't think I spent enough on the house we just went under contract on.

Texas BBQ
Rosemeyers is solid the 4-5 times I have been. But it has been over 2 years since I have gone.

Went to check on the egales today as we had some severe storms roll through last night. Looked like things were ok and no damage to the nest.

Texas -- a failed state

I need to get to BsAs...I am sure I will at some point. Probably knock Montevideo on the same trip. When? Shit, who knows. But not for any damn dagos, I am married to one haha.

Man...I simultaneously understand what you are saying and feel bummed reading it. As for cameras, I jumped to Sony about a year ago after 30 years of Canon as my primary camera. I am still getting used to it, but don't regret it. I honestly didn't find going from DSLR to mirrorless too big of an issue (my first was the Canon EOS R). But I get it, I tried the Fujifilm X100VI and I just couldn't love it like everyone said I should. I did a little poking around, but you may want to consider the Canon Powershot SX70 HS. It has a 65x zoom and can be had for around $700 used. If you do a google search Powershot SX70 HS birds, you can get some samples of what it is capable of.

Shall we talk about heavy music?
I Had preordered that new Converge a few months back when the single was released. No idea why it didn’t auto download. Anyways, giving it my first intentional listen and goddamn is it a great album. I’m gonna wear this thing out.

I think almost everyone wants to find kinship with Mexico haha. Great food, hard working folks, great sense of humor. Italians have had a massive influence on Brazilian culture, especially in São Paulo and the southern states. My wife is over 50% Italian and one set of grandparents were born in Italy. I would fight all of y’all to eat her lasagna again. My wife STILL hasn’t done her citizenship. Several of her cousins have already. I wish she would but just like my situation with Brazilian citizenship I am in a mess of documents that some need correcting before I claim my birthright through descent. So o get it. Last I check Brazil had the most Italian descendants of any country outside Italy with Argentina having the highest concentration.

Converge never disappoints. Kurt Ballou will go down in history as one of the greatest engineers/producers in heavy music history.

The "Post a Picture You Took" thread
Haha...nah. I am not a gun guy. Don't own one and don't see myself owning one. Most I carry is a pocket knife. Over the years I have spent so much time in the roughest parts of Houston that I don't think too much about it. I feel like I have a pretty good sense of when its a FAFO moment or place. I figure a lot of folks think I am a cop haha. Or maybe not, I am covered in more tattoos than anyone I see in the hood. I am not usually in these places at night unless out documenting graffiti writers. Or sometimes at the train yards getting night shots.

Cross posting from the photography thread... I was hanging around the 5th Ward today and stopped at the corner store by Kelly Village. I see this homeless dude approaching my car obviously looking for some change. He immediately starts speaking Spanish to me and I ask him where he is from to which he replies Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I have a couple of cousins that live there and a couple more as well as my aunt in San Pedro Sula. My aunt and I are not Hondureños, but my all my cousins and their kids are. I mention that and he asks me where I am from. I was born in Texas, but in this context it was easier just to say Brazil. He immediately starts speaking fluent Portuguese to me. I was pretty shocked. I ask him how he speaks Portuguese and he says he has family in Brazil. It is pretty weird to find someone, let alone a homeless guy in the 5th Ward of Houston that speaks both Portuguese and Spanish and has roots in countries my family has roots. I emptied my truck of all the change I had. Anyways, I thought it was pretty fascinating and sad at the same time. Most Americans can barely speak English and this guy likely speaks 3 (although we didn't speak any English, he probably at least knows some). This is Paulo...

That's awesome. I recently posted some recs in the photography thread regarding cameras, but I am sure others can help with that as well. In fact, if you want to keep it simple there are some fixed lens cameras with incredible zoom capabilities which my be what you want if you don't want to go all in.

What the fuck is wrong with you, Houston? Non-CR thread
I Went to grab my usual Friday lunch, a couple of tacos from Gourmandize, and figured I would go check on how things were down on the Blade. I hadn’t been down there in awhile. They cleaned it up by shutting down the side streets after a certain time. I went by once after they did that and it did seem cleaned up…or at least a lot fewer prostitutes than before. Well, it looked even more cleaned up today. New shell station where formally there was the shuttered “Finger Licking” restaurant was. I only saw one gal working, but over on the “Gay” side of the track. Kind of crazy how they got it to work, but at the same time, I know this happens all the time in big cities where they bandaid one area and it pops up elsewhere (Airline).

ChatGPT AI Tool— We all work for robots now
Yesterday I interviewed a project scheduler to join my team and I am fairly certain he was using voice prompted AI to try an answer the questions. My PCM was listening in on the interview and she said the same thing. Despite his efforts, whether he was using AI or not, he failed miserably. Resume looked great though. I am glad the head of the department was out of the office because for sure he would have hired this guy without asking my input and I would have had been stuck with yet another guy that is close to worthless and I am told to “make it work” from the executive floor.
